Where is a good place to have a Thanksgiving dinner on STX. I believe Divi will be open, any other ideas?

The Divi would be my very last choice. Food is at best OK and the service is spotty. Check with South Shore Cafe or Duggans if you you want to eat on the East End.

Terry - There will be a Thanksgiving Day potluck at the Full Moon Bar out at Cane Bay. So many of us transplanted residents don't have family here, so this has always been a great way to celebrate holidays with your adopted island family and friends. It was a tradition on the north shore to have this potluck for a number of years, but it wasn't held the past two Thanksgivings due to the changes in ownership. Now the business has a new owner who is happy to resume hosting the event. The bar will be open for drink orders, but the kitchen will be shut down for the day to give the cooks the chance to cook for their own families for a change.

There is a sign-up sheet at the bar where you can see a few of the things people are already planning to bring. Others just show up with their favorite side dishes. Many years there were about 60-70 people at the potluck and one year there were more than 80. Alix is talking about having a steel pan group in for a while that day if they can make it happen. I'll be off-island for Turkey Day with my sons, but have always enjoyed attending the potluck event in the past.

Today's Avis has ads from several restaurants that will be serving Thanksgiving dinner. Many list their menu and prices. Hope this helps. We ate at Carambolas for Thanksgiving a few years ago. It was OK, but in my opinion, not worth the price. The view made it worth it however. Enjoy your holiday!

Terry,
I Have been at the Divi more than once. The food has always been good, but the service at times didn't even compare to island time. Last Year My son was married on the Island, The Saturday after thanksgiving. We had 56 people with children from the states. We went to the Divi for Thanksgiving, The food and service was excellent.
