taxes
*do u pay u.s.a. federal income taxes as residents og the USVI?
Yes, you use the Federal Government forms, rates, and rules to calculate what income tax is owed, but the actual payment is made to the Government of the Virgin Islands, not to the IRS.

Islander,
I know I've asked this question before but we are now on STX and desperately seeking further advice from an accountant. I have the two names from the Settler's Handbook but would really love to hear from people that have used an accountant.
I have read so much about taxes and the IRS that I am blue in the face. I repeat the information to my husband but he wants to hear it from the horse's mouth and the way I comprehend the information.
Our current situation is that we have a place in STX and one in MO but we are living in neither for the next year. We should be back in STX by the end of 2005 but most of the year we will be living in Egypt.
Should be an interesting year.
This is of no help to you regarding taxes, but I was wondering if you needed a dependable, single, Christian female to house sit your home in Stt this next year- I am looking to move there? Just a thought.
Hello Sharon,
That link I provided with the tax law article was from a law office that does tax law (that is if you wanted a tax attorney). http://www.vilaw.com/
For an accountant... I don't know of any on St. Croix. However the laws would be the same for the USVI in general so perhaps calling a St. Thomas accountant would work just as well... I can offer Katherine Gibson (340)776-0640 and email ksgcpa@aol.com as a suggestion.
