Swimming lessons for my 18 month old
Hi,
Does anyone know of swimming lessons for my 18 month baby? I am also open to private or semi-private lessons? I read in an old thread that there are classes at Magens Bay, does anyone have any current information on this?
Thanks!
Keep an eye out when reading the Daily News and Island Trader, they will have current announcements concerning swimming lessons.
You can also try looking in the phone book under Community Services toward the front of the book. There is St. Thomas Swimming Association 774-3745 or YMCA 776-1592. Magens Bay 777-6300. Maybe these organizations can help steer you in the right direction. Good Luck!
Thanks! I will call them.
Google Tiny Bubbles St. Thomas - they give lessons at Secret Harbor.
Thanks, I will!
If you haven't found anything, check this out. I saw this on a flyer. I don't know how old it is though :S

(I didn't write down all the info. on the flyer, it was too much.)
Just curious but any reason you can't do it yourself? I can't remember now when I learned to swim but it was donkey's years ago in the cold North Sea when I was very young. I can only very vaguely recall the transition from paddling at the water's edge to venturing further in and then, at waist-depth, learning to paddle with my arms before letting my feet lift off. I've known countless parents here who, aided by the calm waters here and its buoyancy have quickly got their little babies swimming like fishes when they can hardly walk.
School isn't out here until mid June, so the summer activities won't start until then. In the past there have been swimming classes for toddlers at Magens on STT and Secret Harbor. You should send both an email.
