Hello!
There is a couple that just moved here that I work with here on STT. They would like to learn to swim. I gave them the # for the pool in red hook and even though they have called them several times they haven't been able to get anyone to set up lessons for the 2 adults. Does anyone know of any other people that can give private swim lessons?
Also, the wife would like to learn to drive. She is on a spouse visa and doesn't have a green card. Even though the BMV website says she can get a license with just a visa she is having a hard time finding anyone at the STT BMV to agree to that. She is going to contact the STJ BMV to discuss it further since they sometimes seem more helpful. The person that she was told to contact only works there on Mondays so she is still waiting on an answer. In the meantime, is there anyone you would recommend on STT for adult driving lessons? A woman I know recommended her preacher but never got back to me with a contact number.

Check out the phone book. I have seen a car on the road that says Caution, Student Driver, so there is someone that actually does this for a living on island/STT.

Mr. Campbell is probably your best bet, because I've used several and he seemed to know how to work BMV better than the others.
For swim lessons contact the dive shop at Secret Harbor - Aqua Action. I know they give swim lessons to toddlers, so adults should be something they can work with.
Magens also offers swim classes on a regular basis. I think I saw an ad recently for lessons. I guess if you call Magens Bay authority you can get the contact info.
