Is there any chance that you would be able to adopt a fresh, sweet, male, orange striped tabby kitten??

Or do you know someone who would love a new friend?

A stray cat at the airport and had 5 kittens. I have been feeding them for the past couple of weeks (my office is next to the airport). They are about 6 weeks old now, or maybe even 7. I have been taming the smallest one, the orange kitty, and I could even pick him up and put him in my car by now!!

I need to find him a home. There are several reasons why I can't take him...

But if I can find someone to take him, I will take him to the vet and get him neutered and have his shots, worms etc. He is very sweet and would make a great pet for someone!

The others are not as tame and I want to get the trap from the Animal Shelter to get them and I really need to trap the mom, who might be pregnant again.

So anyway, would you want to take a sweet orange halloween kitty or do you know someone who would love him???

Please PM me if you can.

Good luck. Definitely get mama cat spayed asap. Cats go into heat more often in warm, tropical weather.

Whoops sorry STX.

I meant for the title to catch people's eyes.

Someone please can you take this sweet kitty? I will pay for first vet/neuter.

We are not on island right now but we did adopt a female orange lover girl with a feral mother. Her name is Ginger but I call her "bad kitty". She is a delight and the love of my sons life. If we were there we would adopt your sweet orange lover boy for sure. The ginger "orange cats" are special indeed. Our "bad kitty" is not really bad but she is a great hunter. No mice or insects in our house. Island cats are wonderful family members.

thanks speed1dy and Tammi!!!

I have found someone to take the orange kitty!!!

A coworker has fallen in love with him and he has taken to her as well. I will take him to the vet next week for his shots/etc and then he will go home with her.

As for the other cats, I will pick up the trap from the animal shelter next week and see how many I can trap at one time. I will take them to get spayed/neutered and then I will have to release them back, because they are still too skittish to become pets, even after I have fed them for 3 weeks now.

Contact the sunshine foundation about their catch and release program.

Thanks Jamison

I forgot to update this post.

i did contact the Sunshine Foundation and they said that they are overwhelmed with cats and the most they can do is rent a trap and then spay the cats when they are brought in (for the low cost of $25).

A kind co-poster on this board, who runs his own sort of program with his wife and a friend, lent me a trap. I was going to try to trap some tomorrow but now the weather is throwing a monkeywrench in my plans. (they only spay/neuter strays on Tues + Thursday)

I'll see how many kitties i can trap after the weather passes.

The Sugar Mill Veterinary Center will rent the trap to you for a $50 deposit. Call Liz at 718.0002

Or the St Croix Animal Welfare Shelter has one to borrow if no one is using it.

I ordered mine online. Cost about $90.00.
Have trapped about 30 roosters and hens and relocated them from my doorstep to a chicken farmer with a no escape pen and trapped and s/n numerous cats and kitties.
Worth having my own instead of renting and all the back and forth.
