Did anyone ever hear of what happened to "Champs" in the Sunshine Mall? I've not seen anything in the paper (hard to find a Avis lately) and nothing online either. It's a shame to see it gone as it employed quite a few young folks and it always seemed to have good business.
Now all that is left on that floor is the golden arches.

I don't think anyone but Marianne and Payless do well at sunshine (having windows to the outside, people see the stores). People just do not know its a mall. Its not the most convenient either. The stores are spread out all in there when most of that vast space is empty. Its nice looking and clean, but not much is in there. I know when we first came people told us that people were often mugged in there, so we just stayed away at first. Only later to find out that it was mostly island gossip. But honestly most newcomers just have NO IDEA the mall is in there, and after you've gone and seen how empty it is, its never been worth the drive to me.

It is a really nice mall, its a shame that its so empty.

there always was a Champs at Sunny Isle. They just moved over to the larger location and consolidated from having two stores. Can't blame them really as this had to cut down dramatically on the overhead and make staffing much easier.
