Hi,
My girlfriend and I are looking to relocate/extended vacation in the USVI for June and July. We are both in our twenties and are looking to take a break from the real world. What are your suggestions on places we should look for short term furnished housing (that isn't terribly expensive) and any other suggestions for what we should look in to and check out in advance? We haven't decided on anything yet, so any input is helpful.

Leaning towards st croix at the moment - but even that is up for debate...

Also, one more question...assuming we got a place "centrally located" is it possible to get away without a car (since it will only be a sort stay)?

Yes and No for a car. Short term stays at one of our rentals usually get away without a car, between a cab and often hopping in with one of the other renters get them by. Some will rent a car like Tues-Friday AM and do errands and exploring when its the "cheapest to rent a car".
I have a few rentals I use for short term -----weekly, $250 fully furnished and turn key ready(2 week minimum). Schedule to lose 1 tenant by end of June, so the timing might work for you.
St croix is probably more affordable, and if you like beaches, scuba diving, snorkeling, and a place to relax that isnt to tourism, ST Croix is your best bet.
