Ok, everything is just about ready for my family move. I have stuff packed, bike ready to go, car ready to go etc. My wife is coming over in June once I have everything in place in the new abode. She is looking for some employment in her field, but hasn't found anything as of yet. No sweat she will get on the island and meet folks.

In the meantime she called the public school system and got information on substitute teaching. The pay seems decent, but it is what is unsaid that is scary.

So are there any sub teachers on the board who can give us the low down on the positive and negatives of substitute teaching on STT.

We know about the different opinions regarding the quality of education in the public schools on STT. What we would like to know concerns how bad it is for a sub to come in to the schools to teach. She was told that she may be called in to take the place of a teacher for several months - which means she will be doing the full time teaching job without the benefits.

How much substitute work is there?
Does school go year round?
So how is the atmosphere?
Do the paychecks come on time or at all?
and other general information would be great?
