We're planning to move to STX in the spring and are thinking of bringing our Subaru Outback down. Does anyone know if we would be able to find parts if needed? Is there any reason bringing this car would be a bad idea? Any input would be helpful! Thanks!!

Caribbean Auto Mart sells Subaru's, just not very many. I took a Subaru Forester in for service this morning and four hours later not one item (all minor) had been done due to various issues: parts out of stock, the tool needed for the job had been stolen, etc. The Service Manager told me that they do not keep too many parts in stock because there are so few Subaru's on island. So, to sum it all up, there is a Dealership on island who can perform warranty work. However, whatever parts may be needed will probably have to be ordered and their inventory control system will probably not be able to tell that they are not in stock until they actually start physically searching for the parts.

I feel like I see Subaru's all over the place here. Not as many as Jeep, but there seem to be a lot.
I think I have the only Saturn sedan on island though.
I love that we were able to bring over one of our cars. the Buying a used car process has not been an easy one.

I have a subaru and I've taken it to Caribbean Automart. They have been unimpressive. Neither they, nor my regular (solid) mechanic Mike Heubner (MPH auto) were able to track down a problem, but Mike gave it a good try, serviced some related things and gave me some options to consider, all for half of what CA charged for "we can't find anything wrong." Good luck.

MPH Mike is the best!
He's ordered parts for my vehicles and usually calls 2 days later to tell me they arrived.

Caribbean Auto Mart once told an aquaintance of mine that her van over heating was due to the intake manifold and that it was going to cost over $2000 to fix. I insisted she take it to Mike. MPH found a loose wire on the electric fan and charged one hour labor.

He works on any brand car.

Jeff and Terry in Golden Rock service Subaru. Jeff used to be the service manager for the old subaru dealer before Caribbean Auto Mart had it. He's good and reasonable. Usually have to order parts off island though for non routine items.
