Juanita, it`s probably better to step aside as they are turning down medical assistance.
I`m not allowed to call the police retards here, even if they are I`m told.
The driver should have been taken to the hospital for testing< no-brainer.
I suspect the police know the driver & want to protect him.
Makes you think though, glad you didn`t suffer property damage!

Today it's 11 degrees, with the wind chill it's -2. At least we are not in North Dakota, it's -35 degrees there and that's not with wind chill. ST Croix looks so much better this time of year.

My sister's kids had a day off from school today because it was too cold for folks to be outside. I've never heard of a day off due to cold weather (they are in Michigan). My dad, who taught at the same school the kids go to, couldn't ever remember being given a day off for cold weather. Must be brutal there. KJ

We got about 2 inches of snow yesterday in NY, and it might never melt! Temp was about 10 this am....We've got family off to the inauguration.. it may be in the mid-30's there by Tuesday....but I'm thinking of all those kids in the band that's coming from the VI....the excitement willhelp to keep them warm, perhaps. One of the memories I have from attending one of the swearings-in long ago, is how cold my feet were by the end.

Tourist occasionally get confused. The one time it happened to me was on Northshore road near The Waves. We were going slowly and I just stopped the car and sat there. It took about 10 seconds for the irate tourist to realize HE was in the wrong.

I did it when I came back to the states. I drove all the way down my street on the wrong side of the road. A car was coming towards me and I was saying what is that idiot doing. It wasn't until I pulled into my driveway that I realized I was on the wrong side. I did it again yesterday in a parking lot.

Snow flurries here this AM in Norfolk, Virginia. We had to leave the faucets running all night so the pipes wouldn't freeze. Weird to do that after living in St. Croix.

All the computerized signs on the interstate here are warning of congestion on interstates 64 and 95 heading into DC because of the inauguration. I imagine people are already heading up there. I feel sorry for anyone entering that mess. DC at best is difficult. The news is saying that there is a lot of worry about having enough portable toilets and food and water for everyone. Also people being outside in the frigid temperatures. The hotels are putting up their staff so they don't have to worry about them getting back into town.

Awww sorry about your dog & glad all is well with everyone!!!
Staying left does get confusing for tourist (and newbies here)...........something about your brain in auto-pilot while driving...lol.
This time of year, we all need to be more aware and SLOW down Mon! Tourist and snow birds are here enjoying themselves and just forget our rules of the road..............resulting in more accidents. Been hit more than once & adverted several others, now we rarely go out during the night............high beamed rum fueled 6000lb motorized death machines jumping lanes 😮
Not my idea of fun.......dodging pot holes & wrong way drivers in the dark.

I remember when I first moved to Maine (100 yrs. ago...talk about COLD!), and had my first driving "joust" with a rotary! My husband YELLED at me 'cause I kept going AROUND and AROUND and crying hysterically and have no CLUE how to get OFF!! ........plus it didn't help that the Maine State Police station was right there and they all came out to stare and laugh at me. :-X
Yearasta, Thank God you are all OK! Sorry for your loss of Cujo.
