Went to Delly Deck for breakfast. By the time we got done, the rain had stopped & was it ever muggy. However, it's cool under the ceiling fan & I have a couple of Netflix movies to watch.
It's overcast here too... think it'll storm later. Going to stay in and watch Pans Labyrinth with Haleigh 😉
well after 5 days of rain here Lavallee is starting to green up quite nicely, roads are mud but thats ok,roof leaks in one spot
Sunny, sort of right now with lots of puffy clouds. I suspect we might get some more rain today sometime.
well i'm making an attempt to clean the house starting with one room at a time instead of wandering aimlessly through them all picking at random things in each, lol, started with the main bathroom so the ex can finally get the new sink we bought installed, god dog and cat hair everywhere
Last chance to see The Lone-Star Love Potion at Caribbean Community Theater, today, Sunday, at 4:00 PM.
hey Cody i sent you a pm
so as i was leaving town this afternoon to come home i saw a new health food store by foodtown, anyone been there? i did'nt have time to stop. A friend of mine owns a print shop here and he told me that anyone running for any type of office here has to pay for their print stuff upfront in full before he runs the job LOL.The locals were getting the good spots along the road in the salt river area to catch land crabs when the sun goes down, once they've been purged with corn meal and coconut they get 24 bucks for a dozen.
I love land crab season! The first time I saw it, I couldn't figure out what all the pedestrians were doing on the road.
For the ignorant, like me, I found this very informative article on land crabs. The resort at which I stay each summer actually has a special "Crab Village" set up to protect the crabs, I suppose, from people and landscapers, and probably to make the lawn less holey. It doesn't work, though, as there are still lots of crab holes all over. Fine with me.

Today was a good day . . . stopped and got both of our drivers licenses and it only took about a half hour . . . better than anywhere we've lived before. Then we went looking at cars - everyone is nice but it is so exhausting. My head is full of all of the different types of vehicles, costs, etc.
did you have to do the tests or was it an exchange? stateside for vi,if so please explain the process involved,i'm driving on a nebraska license that i got last summer
It's super easy, TRW. We were switching from VA to VI licenses so no tests involved.
Go to the DMV (off of the highway, if you're headed west on the highway make a right on the street across from the industrial park, go to the stop sign and turn right, it's at the far back corner of the parking lot) . . . go to window # 1 (in the back corner) and pick up the form that is next to the window and fill it out . . . once it's filled out go to window # 5 with your completed form, your current license, your passport (or birth certificate) and your social security card - you have to pay your $45 there . . . take the packet of info back to window # 1 and give it to the lady there and then sit and wait - she'll call you when it's time to make sure everything in the computer is correct and take your picture - you wait about two minutes, she hands you the license and you're out of there.
I think it helped that we got there early. We were there at about 8:30am. I think they open at 8am.
BTW - I'll repeat some helpful advice that I learned on another post - for all women - you can't wear a tank top for you picture - that's what I wear a lot so I was glad I knew ahead of time to bring a jacket with me to throw on for the picture
aounds painless, thanks goalusvi!!

Wonder how much a place like this would cost in STT.
well did you post it on the STT today thread?
Didn't know it existed.
Thanks for the "negatives" and "positives" on the islands. Our mindset is similar to the Corona ads you see on TV! lol We look for the serenity in things and try to simplify. STT/STX sounds like our cup of tea. We are planning a move in the next 6-9 months, and I haven't found anything to deter us yet.
Trade - we like iguanas too!
Look forward to maybe meeting some of you guys!
hi from south west florida. with all the negitivies on this board and having made a PMV i am on my way. SEE YOU ALL AUGUST 30th. my pickup will be there september 2nd and hopefully have VI tags on the 3rd or 4th. i have a jeep rented from centerline car rentals again until i get my truck. as some of you know i was waiting till october because of my mutt but will go back an get her when it cools off & i get settled in. see you soon
David, You can't compare a place like that to a place in the Virgin Islands. You are only showing pics of the outside buildings and fountains. There are many factors in building a building like that in STT or STX. The cost are extremely high so therefore it would cost you more in the islands than in the states. Was sort of a dumb question to ask and who would have the correct answer ?
well they were talking about my homeless guy on "free speech" this morning and about how appalling it is that he lives at the gateway to c'sted and how dirty his porch is and how can the church let him squat and he needs to go before the cruise ships arrive and blah blah blah, i guess it irritated me because they all sounded so uptight and pursed lipped on the phone, you know the ones that suck lemons their whole life, hey i brought the guy a broom and a dustpan a few months back to keep it clean and he did, then someone stole his garbage can after dumping the garbage all over the place so i bought him a roll of trash bags a few days ago,and well he tried lol i saw some full bags there this morning as i drove through, instead of getting all uppity about him try and get him some type of shelter off the street,i know he gets a check, a friend of mine at the food stamp office told me he does, his brother is Victor the guy that wanders all over downtown with the red dred bag on his head, neither of them are actice drug users. I don't know i just heard alot of bitching and whining from suburban white people on the radio this am and no solutions mentioned.
HEY TAMMY do you think as a favor to this thread you could do the whole well thing from the estimates to the conclusion with water running from the end of your hose including all cost involved,i have a well already but you might be able to help someone else.
Sure trw,
We had to postpone the intallation of our well until we return from the states. The man we hired brought out his rig to do the drilling 2 days before we left and we assumed he would get right to work but he did not so we asked him to wait.
Our quote was 45 dollars a foot. We had a cheaper quote but a very good friend recommened this person so we went with him. He also obtained all the permits required. The other person did not do that and also had a 2 month wait time to start. The 45 a foot does not include running electric or the pump. I don't know how deep we need to go to get water. The guess is 60 to 100 feet. I will continue to post as we progress and let everyone know how it goes.
Ok, going to see Kung Fu Panda at the cinema cafe. Pizza, beer and a kid movie. What could be better. JJ turned 5 on Aug. 3rd so we are doing lots of kid family stuff while we are here. This weekend is the water park. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!
bruce green and wes jameson were well drilling partners,i bought my house from bruce green who has since moved to puerto rico,i think they said our well was 180 feet deep, when the pump died a couple of years ago we tracked down wes over in f'sted and he came and put it a new one
I thought wells cost more than that!
