hey Alexandra, got to work a couple of hours ago and the beach here is full of tourists so thats a good thing, but we just had a bunch of new airforce boys check in for the night and i'm feeding them rum and cokes. maybe i'll see you tonight.
Alexandra,
Back in the Late 80's early 90's I was still on active duty and was able to catch a hop out of New Castle Delaware with the Delaware Air National Guard during the months of Jan,Feb and March on a C-5 to STX. Retired get thrown into a different category, and with Iraq most resources are for active duty only. Maybe things are improving. Can't beat the price for space A travel.
New England Won! Now for the Giants! That would make a perfect day!
Meg--thanks for the info on the race. We saw the sailboats again today and my husband teased me that "your boats are back." Looks like they were....do you know if they have those types of races frequently?
East Ender--you are right about this Cruzan. I'm a big slug at this point, with no job. I know that is going to come to a roaring halt soon, so I am enjoying it for now.
We had a quiet day today, cleaning the condo, with football watching this evening. Nothing terribly exciting, but we both remarked how nice it was to be in 80 degree weather when the temperature at our former home is 21 degrees. Kim
hi from southwest florida. i know how to get to the vidailynews.com but could not find a link for the avis. is there one? thanks. here it was only in the low 50's for a high with 25-30 mph winds today. yesterday was 80 and had a great day boating with the mutt and friends. my dive gear is hanging in the garage waiting for the STX move, just need to sell my property or save up enough $$$.
I believe the Avis is in paper form only. Have you looked at The Source? Here is the link for the STX version: http://stx.onepaper.com/
You can jump to the St. Thomas & St. John versions from there. KJ
The Avis isn't online.
"one of my birth fathers"
How many birth fathers do you have? 🙂
Hard day at work. Really weird weather for this time of year but heard it's going to clear some tomorrow with more wind. Will try to stay awake for the Amazing Race.
By the way, what's Krewe de Barkus?
thanks
A day late and a dollar short! As you can tell by the previous posts, I missed Krewe de Barkus. The boat my husband crewed on didn't place in the boat race, but a good time was had by all. Nice time at the Yacht Club follower by dinner at Bombay. OK, nothing to rave about, and we were the only table. Tomorrow I am going to look at a product to resurface the floors in my entire house. Exciting! Have a good night.
Alexandra, Bentley looks forward to meeting you too.
Its official The Giants Won! Now its a perfect day!

Trade,
The Krewe de Barkus Dog Parade marks the beginning of the Mardi Croix festivities, taking place on the boardwalk in Christiansted. Revellers and their dogs take to the streets in their best fancy-dress and the best-dressed dog wins a prize.
Sounds like fun. Sorry I misunderstood you, Trw. Raining & thunder in STT this AM. Since it's a holiday the traffic should be light going to work though.
I don't know how today is going to be. When I got out of bed this AM, I started making the same noises, sounds, grunts , and groans my father use to make when he got out of bed, "that's a little frightening".
same here Lizard, same here....... wow the sky just opened up and it's POURING here, coming down hard and fast,oh and lizard the last haircut i got i had the guy color out the little bit of gray starting in at my temples, lol i have no desire yet to start looking like "grandpa" while i wait tables and i'm tired of being "sirred" when did i turn into a sir. Is it raining yet on STT? i think one of your cruise ships was lost last night, looked pretty close to us.
The first of my husbands brothers arrived at 9:30 last night. I was in bed by 10:00. Woke up at 2 to help mom get more comfortable. Back up at 3. My son was sleep walking. Rain woke me up at 4. Finally at 5:30 got up and answered some emails. Made breakfast at 7. Husband and brother left to explore the island. I worked a couple of hours via internet and then had a drum playing session with my 4 year old. Right now he is happily playing with his crabs. Maybe after lunch I can get him to take a nap (probably not), so I can shut my eyes for a moment. We have a little sun out east right now. Have a great day everyone.

Lizard - the quantity of military aircraft coming to STX from various bases all over the mainland has greatly increased over the last few years. Many of them are able to offer "Space A" hops. Sometimes the ones coming through Colombia and places like that can't and it also depends on the kind of cargo they are carrying. We are getting quite a lot of retirees and some active duty families coming down on their leave periods. They don't always hop back on the same aircraft they came from and sometimes not directly to the same base, but with many planes going to Charlotte or Charleston or McGwire or March or McChord or Keesler and a dozen other bases, there is often a way to connect to another inter-base hop to get back home. It helps if you have a flexible schedule, of course, since the Air Force ops aren't on a set schedule and they can change on a moment's notice just when you thought you had your return flight all figured out. There are always commercial flights if it really falls apart on you!
Big pot of chili simmering on the stove since that sounded really good with the damp weather (you'd think there was a blizzard outside.) Now the sun is out.
just got home from work, i have to be up by 3:45 to be to work by 5, rained all day here, lol today was a st.croix "roll your eyes and keep your mouth shut kinda day"
When I got up yesterday in Louisville it was 15 degrees. My trip to the airport, without my heavy, Louisville coat was chilly, to say the least. I got off the plane on STX at about 5 pm. It was drizzling, but it looked great to me. I'm glad to be home.
With the unusual rain we have been getting for this time of year, I smile and say (its not snow)! We were going to go North this week, but it's to cold up there, so Mr. Fax and Mr. Fedex will do the job. Miss the Kids, but decided we will suffer in paradise a little bit longer. Now for the immediate problem at hand or foot, I can't find one of my sneakers. Have a good day everybody.
juanita what kind of floors do you have and what kind of product are you talking about, just got home from the breakfast job, traffic was kind of heavy going through downtown, looks like they're working on the csted bypass, i'll still have to drive through downtown to get to my jobs though. Does anyone else besides me think that paul and ringo get together when no one is around and do karaoke together to their old beatles songs?
