and one other thing i have lived in alot of places,n,dak mn neb, colo, texas and i've thought the same wherever i have lived poor people no matter their race should not be allowed to breed, they generally breed more poor people who in turn breed more poor people and overload the system thereby screwing it up for the rest of us,so please don't call me rascist,in 120pages i have never been, you forget that a person does not move here on their own if they are a rascist, you can call me elitist, or an assholejerk that i can deal with but never rascist

so you're saying it's perfectly acceptable to get yourself knocked up and then let us,the tax payers, support you and your brood, you see the tim and i had to work our asses off to get what we have, neither of us had the luxury of letting the government support us

TRW? Forced sterilization? You are a real sick racist f*ck. So our people are supposed to be sterilized and systematically exterminated, while outsiders are being flown in by the thousands? I love this site, we can all look into the psyches of the most disturbing people who inhabit these 84 square miles.

That's quite a leap from the remarks made by TRW to labeling him a racist. I saw not one single reference to race in his post, only to behavior. You, DL are the one who brought up race.

DL
I'm a little stymied, "while outsiders are being flown in by the thousands", whats the purpose of that statement, am I missing something. Isn't that part of the economic engine of the islands called "tourism".

Lizard, nice to see you back. Glad you, and Annie, are hanging in there!

Don't get me started on tourism. There is a part of our little rock(s) that doesn't WANT tourism. My education and background / experience has been the tourism industry. I believe in it. I am saddened daily at the remarks I hear and the evidence I see, that some people don't accept visitors with, if not open arms, at lease cordial acceptance.

I love this thread. We can bounce around and change the subject!

Lots of rental interest this week. Diageo, and Hovensa turn-around, really popping!

juanita i saw the pic in the paper today of the 3 members of the play, they looked great,i found a new driver,my old one ran out of stories to tell me so i moved on,and the drug dealer was like riding with the clampetts, they were either all high or jonesing for the next hit but it was fun for me to brush make believe bugs off them and then watch them get all paranoid so it served a purpose i guess, so monday i chatted up some of the guys in front of gov house until i found an interesting one, lol,i just can't spend a half hour in a van with a boring person hahaha it turns out he's mighty pat the calypso singer and he's really cool, he has a new cd coming out in 2 weeks and he played it for me tonight on the way home, the whole thing harkens back to the 60's,it's old style raggae and there's a country song that he sings thats so sweet and pure, the father of the girl doing back vocals on the song sell hotdogs from a cart downtown and she was home for the weekend from college, but her voice is so good, riddims should have the cd in a couple of weeks he said, he won the calypso contest 14 years in a row, he writes his own stuff

you know i love to push buttons and when i make controversial statements even if i don't mean them it's fun to watch all the usual suspects rise up and condemn me for this or that, lol it's like feeding lab rats and it's interesting to see, just for the record i've voted a straight democratic ticket in every election since 1980, i believe in the party and what it stands for,but still buttons need to be pushed and options explored, lol i need ideas now on how to stir DL up again

hey trw if u see mighty pat again, please hail him up 4 me! he is one of our very best calypsonians, and has performed throughout the caribbean as well as stateside.

he is known for his melodies, his clear and on-point vocalizations, and his quick wit. for social commentaries, he is the boss! he is also a great ambassador.

and you, trw, are a oner! i love reading your posts because of the wicked stream-of-consciousness. you are remarkably self-aware and you're really all about love.

you are a hot mess, tho'...! 😀

That reminds me of what my mom says-something like "Don't get in a fight with a pig because you just get dirty and the pig likes it..." but, honestly, it is fun to watch...

i think alot about god and redemption and i search for both but after awhile i wonder if they're not the same thing, you all know i despise organized religion because it has nothing whatsoever to do with god, that crap is a belief system imposed on sheep that need guidance because they have no faith in themselves, see i believe in myself and my capacity for goodness and doing the right thing when called upon but is that god or is it somehow redemption, are they the same thing,i'm confused,my cousin injects human into chunks of metal,is that playing god or in search of god

Trw, I love you too. Upper middle class and white. Well when I was 19 I was pregnant, unmarried and homeless. Abortion didn't enter my mind. Just surviving. I weighed 89 pounds because I was starving. White, well I look white. I'm half white. Upper middle class. Whew that was a hard road and I have slipped back into homeless 3 times. That is why I never sell my tools.

I hope the parents of the VI, and America, are watching President Obama right now. His speech to the NAACP 100th anniversary. He is inspiring!

well, it's nice to see that mighty pat has a new friend!

i call myself a "civilian" now, no longer on the radio, not even in jest (LOL)... but i do enjoy the local calypso tents during carnival here on st. thomas, and i never miss those.

nice to see you having a musical discussion with the young man. wsta personality, musician and emcee irvin "brownie" brown says that country music has a lot in common with classic calypso (or kaiso) because of the fact that it tells a story, relies on infectious melody and memorable chorus. the saying "music is the universal language" is very true to me. it brings people together with shared experiences and joy. don't we all want to live and love? yay!

ok, that's enough for me. later y'all.

so one of the lawyers has a spare office in a separate bldg downtown that he no longer uses,i know 2 homeless guys that look out for each other and they were sleeping in the park at night and constantly being beaten up and robbed by the night slime downtown so i talked to the lawyer about letting these guys sleep in the spare office for awhile,he said of course and laid down some ground rules for them, lol this was supposed to be temporary, well it's been about 6 months now,the lawyer would like to see them gone but he refuses to throw them back on the street, that is not an option at all,i suggested they both go up to the village for a few months and dry out,but of course they're not ready for that, and now they moved a woman in with them, the good thing about it all i guess is that none of them do any type of drugs, just alot of booze, and i could use some more clothes anyone

tammy, i have certain core beliefs, the first is nobody has right to dictate to a woman what she can or cannot do to her body, while i do not believe in abortion as a casual form of birth control, nobody has the right to tell her what to do,unless she is on government money or housing,no more babies, you must use birth contol pills or the patch,i think they are doing this in florida, another core belief is that the projects need to be torn down and these people moved into some type of home ownership spread throughout a community not concentrated in one area, another core is that schools need to recognize extraordinary students and move them or somehow ensure the childs safety and learning, either by moving the family or enrolling that child in a special school where the kid will be nurtured,on the other hand i believe in the death penalty, for convicted child and animal abusers, premeditated murder, ripping off an old person's life savings and rape,my sense of justice is harsh and swift, all these corrupt gov officials need to have a hand chopped off, another core is that all drugs need to be legalized and taxed just like booze, yes you will have a spike in use but it will level off after awhile, another core is that religion needs to be taxed just like any other business because thats all it is and by indoctrinating children from birth is brainwashing and taking away their right to choose about something that cannot be proven in a lab unlike the rest of the educational system situation, health care needs to be universal, the gov needs to get out of the marriage business unless everyone is covered, these are some things that after 40 something years of living i truly believe in
