Had flat bread cheese stakes at Tullies a few weeks ago. They were pretty good but I think I still prefer a good ol' fashion sub roll. How big was the "medium" pizza for $5? Was that regular price?
Special for december. About a 12 inch, normal for a medium .
First time eating there and was pleasantly surprised
Had flat bread cheese stakes ...
Wouldn't trust those to keep my tent securely in place (or pierce a vampire's heart) ...
Salud--dinner tonight. Food was ok but service was awful.
The server became overwhelmed when the third table came in. Sat with dirty plates for over 20 minutes.
Very disappointing
I've heard this over and over about Salud. My buddy went there last week and was totally disappointed. Extremely slow service, snotty server, watery drinks and blaring music so loud it was painful.
I stopped going there a few years ago for all the same reasons.
Why are the owners trying so hard to SUCK?
Why are the owners trying so hard to SUCK?
Have you considered nicely bringing to the owner's attention what makes the place "suck" for you? Did your friends do so? Not every establishment suits everyone and this we all understand but if the place in general suits you then why not let the owner know what you find off-putting? He or she may listen and mull it over or dismiss it outright - won't know until you try.
Where to begin? They suck so bad.
it seems that some restaurants try really hard to put up a good impression when they first open, but then slowly things go downhill.
there have been a number of places on stx this has happened with.
but luckily there are enough with good consistent service
What's the scoop with the Pink Spot in Fsted closing? I just found out it's now Paradise.

The italian place is next to (left side of) the auto parts store. Drove past today and saw an "open" sign in the window.
Has dinner at Un Amore (the Italian place at 5 Corners) last night and it was wonderful.
Casual dining, nice menu, lots of choices and reasonable prices.
It is owned by Katherine & Frank of Bacchus and EAT; it's a great addition to STX restaurant scene.
Thank you specialk
It's in the same strip as the Sushi place, opposite end?
Yes Scubadoo--that's exactly where it is.
Been driving right by it I don't know how many times and never noticed it. We'll have to check it out.

They don't yet have a sign up.
The sign is there, close to the intersection and probably easier seen if you are heading east.
I wonder how soon Kat and Frank will sell this venture. Its seems their business strategy is to use their reputation and expertise to start a new restaurant, sell it while its at its peak popularity for maximum gain (with a short term non-compete) and then watch the new owners flounder while they plan their next restaurant flip. Masterful. They should have their own TV show on the Food Network...Restaurant Flip & Flop with Kat & Frank.
Just my two cents.
I believe they are successful because they actually work their restaurants; Katherine covers the front, Frank is in the kitchen. They are hands on and pay attention.
I think that is what it takes to run a successful business of any kind.
Flip, flop and fly!

How do they have anything to do with what happens to the place after they sell?
Also, it could very well be the case that the part they enjoy is bringing the restaurant up and into operating successfully mode.
so any word on the place across from the ballpark?
The Vietnamese Place across from the ballpark is pretty good. i like the crispy shrimp spring rolls. The are closed Sunday and Monday.
Flip, flop and fly!
