Reliable word has it the " owner of the property" has declared bankruptcy. A contractor who had done work several months earlier this year had checks bounce and only worked if cash was paid. Same old story it seems and that is somebody swoops in with a big "story/plans for this and that", but after a while not enough $$ to back up the "story/plans".

I ate at the Pink Spot a few months ago. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very pleasant.

VICANUCK, hubby had a cheeseburger from seaside and said it was great.

They are selling off all the bar stools, coolers, etc. on Facebook. Stick a fork in it. ..

Zion Modern Kitchen – Great food and staff. Lasagna & Rack of Lamb were phenomenal. Great Bread pudding as well

You are here – terrible pizza and poor staff

Rowdy Joes – Excellent food and Staff is good as well. The Fish tacos are a great deal.

Off the wall – Pizza was good

Savant – Very over priced

Blue Water Terrace – Excellent Brunch and good Pizza

The Waves – thought the food was ok. Service was pretty good but they were definitely short staffed

Eat – Bad service and food was meh

Chicken Shack – Chicken, rice and Johnny cake excellent as always. Tried the Ribs and they were excellent as well.

Had Arepas at jump up over by 40 Strand, the Chicken and Black bean. Both were excellent. Sounds like they’re opening a new place up in the area

i agree with johnny except i dont think the pizza is all that great at off the wall. wish vinnies was still here

Rum Runners - Very good service and food was pretty good, though a little inconsistent.

Above the Cliff - Very good friendly service. Food was good - Cant go wrong with a bacon appetizer

7/21/15 stopped by the Mermaid after work to meet a friend for drinks and apps. Arrived 5:15 pm, place was empty except for one large table of 8-10 off to the left. 5:20 was acknowledged with a 'yes? Do you need something?' Super weird.

'Good afternoon, I'm meeting a friend here for drinks and apps, are you open right now or btwn shifts?' I politely asked even though I stood there ignored by at least 3 not busy staff members for 5 min.

'Yes we are open, sit wherever you want'

Took a seat at a high top next to bar. Attempted eye contact with several staff to no avail even though one staff member in full uniform and name tag chatted with a friend sitting at the high top next to me.

10-15 more minutes of being totally ignored. My friend came and we went to The Terrace.

Instantly greeted by a professional happy bartender. Caught a beautiful sunset and enjoyed some
Delicious cocktails.

I will never go to The Mermaid ever again. I will also not recommend it to my guests as the service attitude and dirty looks were just awful.

Where is Mermaid? By Terrace do you mean Blue Water Terrace?

Mermaid is at the Buccaneer. I've had similar non-service there more than once. But haven't been recently.

The vibe down there at The Mermaid can definitely be unwelcoming. However, the service and food at The Terrace is generally awesome and we've eaten there often lately.
