Went to Savant last night. One other couple in the place. NOT busy!

Pan seared Wahoo was raw and cold through the center, rice was super oily. $34 Must have been previously frozen. Small salad was $14. Wife asked for dressing on the side, it arrived on the salad. I asked that the wahoo be cooked a bit more. Came back rubbery and mealy like they microwaved it.
Lobster skewers were tough and rubbery.

They took off the bill 1 glass of wine.

That's strange.
Wife & I were at Savant Friday night too. I had the pan seared wahoo special which was served over cold orzo and it was excellent - cooked perfectly. It was served topped with a roasted tomato butter sauce, which is why you may have thought it too oily, the orzo certainly has a different texture to rice. We were there early (outside), 6ish and there were many tables occupied when we left. I've never had a bad meal there and consider them to be the best restaurant on-island. Wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary splurge. Besides their wahoo specials I've always enjoyed the rack of lamb special too. One night long ago they had a fettachini(sp?) pasta special with beef that I'm still craving.

Island Hops
We usually get an excellent meal there too.
We sat inside. Arrived at 7 One table finished and left. One table of two were still in the place while we were served. Wahoo was COLD and RAW inside, swimming in oil. Lobster skewers were rubber and the salad dressing requested on the side was served on the salad.

Just bad luck?

We didn't complain about anything but the fish being raw. It came back tough and mealy...

I went Friday. Totally agree. Place was packed. Great Calamari and the flaming cheese appetizer thing was good too.

Tried the new No Bones in Gallow Bay again and it was very good.
Great service from Chuck and his staff. Food was excellent.

The only problem is the noise! All of the windows are gone and if it is busy, the noise bounces off the walls and you can't hear anything the people across the table are saying.

Can't remember but it sure seems bad. All the windows are gone and replaced with concrete. A friend of our had to turn down their hearing aid and then they could not here us! Maybe a good thing!

It still wasn't as loud as opening week.

Being able to hear is important to me. It doesn't sound like I'll be going there.

went to the new no bones. some prices seemed to have gone up-wine. some were the same. i got a burger, which i always like. hubby got the fish and chips-the fish was pretty scrawny . it tasted good but just not much of it. you should have bigger than finger size pieces of fish, and if they are that small, you should have more than 2-3. seriously.

did not see a few old favorites on the menu-chicken parm. did not see the m-f specials. just the dinner specials.

the decor was amazing, absolutely loved what they did with the place.

the service was great. the timing of food delivery was great. we will go back in spite of the few disappointments

;)Had a nice late dinner at the new Shoreline at Cheney Bay, Beautiful setting.
Everyone's dinner was very good and they had couple of nice specials.
Funny, no fresh fish on the menu other than fish tacos! They did have some very nice scallops.

It was not busy at all but we had a 730 reservation. By the time we left, it was empty.

Would go back but....we won't be here this time next week!:-)

Yep, our time has come so we are moving on. It's been a great and we will miss it but........

We have certainly enjoyed our time here but other opportunities have called on us so we are leaving at the end of this week.

Hope everything works out for STX and all the great people who live here.

we finally went to the deep end, had not been there in over 2 years. wow. i was so impressed with the food and the service. i did not get the name of our server but he was so great. excellent customer service skills. wish ALL restaurants could hire him. did not have to wait for anything, not even the check. we will go back to them

So... I just heard that both The Galleon AND Tutto Bene will be closing this year. Can anyone confirm? I got the info from a pretty reliable source, but, still, I would like to be sure.

IF it's true, then it's just another example of STX crumbling. When popular, longtime places like that can't make it, it's a bad sign.

First STIXX, then Bacchus, then Kendrick's... *sigh*

Other restaurants have been opening while older, established places like Tutto and Galleon are closing. This is pretty normal. Recently, we enjoyed an awesome dinner at new comer 40 Strand and are looking forward to trying Zion Modern Kitchen. We've eaten at the new Kendrick's at The Buccaneer several times and enjoy it just as much as the old location. No Bones has upgraded significantly with the move to their new location. No need to worry. Change is good.
