Has anyone tried the food truck near Gallows bay called Ana's living foods? What hours is it there?
I haven't had the chance as yet but many of my friends have and said it's phenomenal.
What sort of food do they serve at the food truck?
I'd just like to say that "the pink spot" is amazing, it's a Tapas bar with a menu that is comprised of only what the chef feels he can make amazing, no filler dishes.
the bar itself is very comfortable and well decorated with an amazing outdoor area... I HIGHLY reccomend it!
The pink spot is located in frederiksted on the waterfront,
Wow! Just ate at Joe's in front of WAPA. Best kept secret. An actual chef!
The Bistro at Gallows Bay is always consistently good. Fast service and salads enough for 2! My go to ace to pick up supper ! Cheese croissants melt in your mouth!
Had Pizza from Tutto Bene for lunch Friday; very good. Interesting toppings and priced right.
Agreed...Tutto bene has the best pizza.
I was at TB a few months ago. The only pizza was a flatbread pizza, no traditional pizza's.
I wish that, as their name implies, they served traditional Italian food there.
They do traditional flat bread pizzas. Very tasty.
where is castaways
Next to Ziggy's.
I've added these to Google Maps. They should show up in around a week if you search for either place. =)

I'm going there Wednesday and plan on trying the pizzas. Good to hear the multiple positive comments in the past couple days!
Went to Rowdy Joe's last night.
We had the Wahoo special. It was to die for. It was served with Thai rice and a ginger slaw.
The band Romanza was playing. They were great.
Love this place.
i was looking for this thread a while back, thank you for posting.
went to marias cantina and was less than happy with the food.
i had a taco and a burrito, they were good but nothing to write home about. hubby had the lobster taco special. lobster was flavorless and dry, there was a buttery like substance dripping from the tacos, they were a bit smaller than the regular tacos and there was no flavor. do not need to go back
subs at the old schooner bay-awesome
hamburgers at no bones-excellent. prime rib dinner-not so much. the meat was good. not sure what the vegi was-it was a boiled mess and the plate was loaded in juice. disgusting
sandwiches at the bistro-pretty darn good
Has anyone tried the new Kendrick's at The Terrace/Buccaneer yet? If Dave's in charge, it has to be awesome!
We will be back on STX for a few months this winter. Can't wait to visit some old favorites and try out the new ones. In FL we are surrounded by conveniences, but mostly chain restaurants. Really miss the quality of STX restaurants. Amazing how many excellent places on a small island! 🙂
Anyone been to Eat lately? Are they under new management?
We went to Kendrick's at the Bucaneer a couple weeks ago for a birthday dinner. Lets say it was just fine, nothing more.
The special that night was Mahi with a lemon, caper butter sauce. It was very tasty. With the fish was a small scoop of plain rice and perhaps 5 small miniature carrots. The cost was $37.
Though it all tasted good, we both agreed that it was way more expensive than the same dish at other local restaurants. Come on, a very small serving of local fish and rice costing $37?? Really?!
They just way overprice at the Bucaneer dinner restaurant. We won't be going to the Terrace again unless their prices become more reasonable!!

We ate there for the first time since the sale on Wednesday afternoon.
For our Salad eaters they say it was good.
For us meat eaters it's not the same EAT.
CD
Went to Savant last night. One other couple in the place. NOT busy!
Pan seared Wahoo was raw and cold through the center, rice was super oily. $34 Must have been previously frozen. Small salad was $14. Wife asked for dressing on the side, it arrived on the salad. I asked that the wahoo be cooked a bit more. Came back rubbery and mealy like they microwaved it.
Lobster skewers were tough and rubbery.
They took off the bill 1 glass of wine.
Guess they don't care if you come back. Now you know why there was only one other couple there. If I have a bad meal somewhere,
I don't go back. There too many other places to choose from.
In the end, the lack of quality and consistency is what puts most restaurants under, especially when charging high prices for crappy food. Don't understand why they don't "get it." Your meal should have been comped.

Realize this post is a few months old, but anyone been?? Someone told me about it being basically all organic/non-gmo. I WILL get there, just been busy, but hoping for a review??
My wife and I went to the New No Bones for dinner last night and it was very nice! The place has a nice ambiance to it and we loved the decor. They might consider installing some acoustic panels as the sound level was pretty loud. I didn't miss the windows from Case Place and prefer the darker steak house feel.
Our server was very attentive as always and Chuck was a gracious host as always having greeted us warmly and visiting each table to ensure everyone was happy.
The food service was very prompt. We tried the new pulled pork nachos for the appetizer and thought they were great. I had the Fish & Chips which was from the old Bones and my wife had a delicious pork special that I can't remember the name of.
All in all, it was a very good experience. This restaurant will be a huge success.
We had guest that stayed last week.
They said the best meal they had on island was at Above the Cliff. They ended up eating there 2 times in the weeks stay. I think they had a pork special and something with shrimp. They also liked Eat @ Cane bay. They are super picky about what they like.
They don't care about the ambience just if the food is good. They come twice a year to STX. They are always looking for new places to go.
They like the food at Joe's in sunny isle but they say it is like a freezer in there.
Next time I will have them try No bones.
