STX - Optometrist
Hi everyone,
I'm in need of getting an eye exam and lenses replaced, would anybody be kind enough to recommend where to go?
Thank you!
If it's just an exam for glasses Sterling Optical at Golden Rock is fine.
Avoid Ombres unless you have a day to spend in the waiting room and enjoy being subjected to poorly trained assistants.
Agree. Sterling Optical. Between Domino Pizza and Pueblo.
Great! Thank you!
Another suggestion. After your eye exam, buy your glasses online. I have been doing it for years and I have 20/400 vision. I buy from Zenni but there are many other sellers. A typical progressive bifocal will cost $500 or more at the optometrist and I recently paid $65 online. I have been very happy with the results and of course the savings.

Wow, thanks for that info. I get the progressive and transition lenses, plus I tend to have expensive taste in frames. The problem I see is "trying on" the frames. How do you know they will fit, feel right and look good?

Getting the right size and fit takes some effort on your part. I would suggest that you carefully measure all of your existing glasses, and then use those dimensions to pick out the online ones. You will likely not have extensive style choices. Like anything else where you have big savings, you become willing to make compromises. Most reputable online sellers will accept returns and work with you if it is not right. You can often talk to them on the phone to help get the size right.
I went on thei Zenni website and saw where you can upload a picture of yourself and "try on" styles that way. At least you'll have an idea if they will look good and suit your face shape.
I had my exam done at Sterling and got my glasses from 39dollarglasses.com. It took a couple of weeks for the glasses to arrive, but I've been really happy with them.

Oh thanks! Great information. I haven't gone yet, but hopefully soon. I just wanted the lenses replaced on my current pair because they were pricey frames. I'll check out that online vendor.
