Does anyone know what kind of reception, if any, you can get with just a digital TV antenna on the east end of STX. How many channels you might get?
I've got great AT&T cell service and I assume free TV broadcasts are transmitted off the same antenna tower.

Depends on where on the east end you live. There are two TV transmiiters on STX . WSVI and WTJX. Both are located on Blue Mt. If you have a reasonably unobstructive view towards Blue you should receive them. If you have a clear shot to PR you'll get a lot more. Grant it much of the programming will be in Spanish. But not all. A few years back I lived on a hill in the area above Blue Water Terrace. I had a small three element antenna pointed towards PR. I received many stations from PR, WSVI, WTJX, and a station from STT (the old CBS over the air feed I think). I mostly watched WTJX on the antenna. The rest of our TV viewing was done on Dish Network.

Thanks K
I picked up a Mohu leaf antenna with a 50 mile range, if I can get 4 or 5 clear stations I'll be happy. No sense paying for a service of any kind till I'm there full time.
