BBVI's network seems to be plenty fast. You need to check your LAN and trouble shoot particularly if you are using WiFi. A poorly configured WiFi connection can cost you half your speed. Also be sure your PC is infected with malware and viruses.

Even then you may not get your rated speed as speed tests are designed to be run to the nearest server. In comparing speed test results globally Speedtest doesn't include results run to servers more than 300 miles distant,

Well, Jeeze! I am jealous. I have never seen/had speeds like that!
How much are you paying for that type speed. I am lucky to get 5mbps download and 1 - 1.5 upload!

WIFI is fine. Machine to machine is fine. I get the same results doing speedtest locally as I do to miami.

Its morning and we're back to our regular speeds again. The results span machines. Mac, ipad and pc. None of which have any malware or viruses.

3 months ago I was getting the full 1.5, able to stream movies etc(not in hd) with no buffering issues.

I also get the same results with local speedtest using a direct connection via cable to the modem/router.

I pay $99 per month. Normally the speed is closer to 20Mbps download.

Alana, your access point is actually offline.
You are on a backup connection that is not as fast.
Your access point should be fixed today and speeds should be back to normal / faster.

Beeski:

They took me off the Inner Brass tower and switched me to Crown Mountain tower last month as I could barely get e-mails, transmit data, upload files or get online for awhile. I hope they remember to charge me for service provided accordingly or do I have to request it, again?
Doon't get me wrong, BBVI is beeter than anything else I have used in past but still seems way slower than what others pay same price for and get way higher speeds.

Thanks for input.

Poodle.
You are paying $49.95 which has the promised speeds of:
1.5Mb/s Download
0.5Mb/s Upload

You are getting more than you are paying for!

Beeski,

At your request I contacted BBVI. Was told they'd look into it and get back with me. That was last Monday! Still waiting...

Just ran speediest. 1.16 up, .17 down. Guess speeds relate to the time of day/night, right? Sorry, not smart enough to imbed the actuals, yet... Any teachers out there?

Once the test is done you can clic share this result.
On that page is a link with a copy button. You can copy that link and then paste it into a post here.

My High Speed Internet has improved since they worked on the tower yesterday that I rely on for my wireless signal:
New speeds are 13.9 download and 8.97 upload/20 PING.
Much better than the max 5mpbs download and lower speeds, I was getting, previously.
Upload speeds were trying especially when trying to send lots of files/data.

My internet was down all day yesterday from 8AM until this morning but BBVI had Levi here by 10AM and I was up and running within minutes.I did call yesterday to report the problem. Jody called me at end of day to let me know he had written up a trouble shooting ticket and when I called this morning at 8:30AM they had been notified and was sending someone out. BBVI rocks!

Thank You BBVI Team.(tu)

Alana....I apologize...it was me who knocked you offline Sunday.
I moved you to a different Access Point....and lost you.
Glad Levi got you back up and working...and that it is faster.

Mike - Thank you, thank you, thank you.
(Not necessarily for knocking me off but for getting me back up and running quickly and at better speeds!)
Levi did mention he thought I might be cursed due to all the times he, Jody and Roosevelt have been to my location, moving me from Inner Brass Tower to CM, etc.............hope not!

I probably know your whole STT team by now! Really good group of people and I appreciate the timely service.
