Stx appliances
Need to get a has dryer on stx. Home Depot is cheap but want someone with more customer service with installation. Any recommendations?
Check with Gallow's Bay Appliance
Tx ric. Do you also know if they sell floor safes? Office max has them but they are not great. Or a good locksmith?
Oscar's near Food Town has good service after the sale, GB Appliance is closed, I use Best Furniture a lot. See Ahmed.
I have purchased a number of appliances for different properties on STX and I think Best Furniture and Carlos Furniture (both near Cost-U-Less) are the best overall for appliances. Both have competitive prices, free delivery, and will haul off the old appliances for an additional $30 or so. They will also often give an additional 5% or 10% off if you ask about it. Home Depot prices are sometimes a bit cheaper but delivery is $65 and they say they will not haul off the old appliances (although you might be able to work out a deal with the delivery guys). KMart Appliance also charges for delivery and their prices are usually higher than the other places.
Also, I had a washer delivered fairly recently by Carlos Furniture that had a small leak when I ran it through the test cycle and they had their repairman come out and look at it promptly (with no charge), so they back up what they sell.
Be sure to check a couple of prices because the prices can vary by $100s for the same item, same brand. I used to think they would all be similarly priced in a small market like this but evidently they do not check the other stores to see what they are selling their appliances for.
I got a really good deal yesterday at Carlos Furniture on a new gas stove. I'm waiting for it to be delivered today and will report back!
It's best to check warranty and service policies as well when purchasing major appliances, etc.
Home Depot and K-Mart do not service what they sell.
Here in STT, K-Mart has a guy fly over from PR - once a month, so you could wait a long time, on a long list unless you have your own appliance repair person which you'll pay for even if something is still under warranty.
Yes, good point Alana. Carlos furniture gives a one year warranty on my stove, and they have an on-island repairman. After that they will still service the stove, I just have to pay for parts and repairs.
This is our first time buying from them, but friends have told me that their warranty experience with them has been good. Fingers crossed. 😀
Bought a washer / dryer combo and a fridge from Carlos. Had good pricing and free delivery. Happy with them.
Old fridge went out on a Friday evening. Home Depot would not deliver until Monday. Carlos delivered it after hours on Friday! Saved a lot of food!
Bought a dishwasher from Carlos furniture, free quick delivery and a warranty!
Also bought a Tempurpedic bed from them......heaven.
Carlos delivered today and it was top notch! Their technician converted and adjusted my gas range on the spot and adjusted every burner to where it is working perfectly. He also had tips on cleaning and maintenance and was knowledgeable about relocating the outlet for it that we will have to do. First rate installation. Recommend for sure.

Ooops, I meant Best Furniture across from Plaza East.
We bought a kitchen full of appliances from Sears/KMart 4 years ago. Worst mistake ever. Took over a year for them to give up on the faulty oven and get us a new one. This month, the fridge died - out of warranty. After being transferred around for 1/2 hour, found out it would have had to wait 2 weeks for the guy from PR. Called Oscar in the morning. They came same day (and arrived early - had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming), fixed the problem in 1/2 hour, and gave me a bill I could afford. Pleasant experience. I would not buy from KMart again if they were selling their appliances for $5. Service is everything.
