STT jewelry buyers?
Found a 14k gold bracelet with mixed stones I'd purchased for ~$800 on STT over a decade ago. Do any of these jewelry stores buyback? If so, are there better or worse ones? Thanks.
I would try and find one of those places that buy gold. They buy scrap gold and pay what ever the going rate is for gold at that time less their fee. Most jewelry stores don't buy back gold jewelry unless they are buying it for scrap.
Do not bring it to those buy back gold places on island because you have stones in the bracelet. You will get ripped off. If they are honest, they should say they won't buy it because of the stones.
Wait until you visit the states because some jewelry stores that also buy gold will buy back a bracelet like you described or go to a pawn shop with a very good reputation to sell it to. You will get a better deal.
If you're not visiting the states anytime soon, either enjoy the bracelet or if needing money quick try to sell to a private party on island, online, or send it to someone you trust in the states to do what I described above.
Good luck!
And even in the states it's tough. Few resale jewelers or pawn shops will give you anywhere close to the retail value of the piece. I went through this three years ago trying to sell several nice pieces with gemstones and diamonds - it was a lot harder to do than I expected.
Expect a maximum of 25% of retail for the piece. Sometimes it is worth more just for the gold.
Get the piece appraised and sell online, if you really need the money.
If not, keep and enjoy or gift to your favorite person.
There may be a few who will buy back, but only if you buy something else in Exchange. Gold has gone up considerably since then, but stones maybe not so much. I would shop the piece at a few stores here, and if I didn'tike their offers, I'd post it Ion ebay with a reserve. You'll know better what the true market value is.

"One more thing worth mentioning. Most of these companies are only buying your precious metals. They do not pay for any diamonds or stones contained in the jewelry. If you have diamond rings or other natural gemstones you should do your research and make sure you're dealing with a company that pays for the stones as well!!"

A reputable jeweler will also examine your precious stones, determine if you have diamonds, and what the value of these will be and check other stones to discover if you have a rare gemstone. The jeweler should then calculate the value of your items and offer you the money you deserve. Keep in mind, all good jewelers will be able to offer you even more money if you trade your items for a new piece of jewelry, so look around the store while you are there.

It would be really nice to fnd one of these jewelers but I don't think they exist any more. 🙁 Even diamonds. I had Tiffany grade diamonds and no jewelers were even interested - the diamonds were actually a liability for the deal. As far as offering what a person deserves, it is generally way less than what they think they deserve.
Usually with jewelry, the cost is in the design more than the stones or gold.

I agree with both accounts!
