So, my husband and I are coming to STT from STX for a day to meet w/ friends coming on a cruise. Where would be the best place to hang out for the day? Perhaps swimming ,snorkling, lunch, and of course some great cocktails. Any info woul be great, Cheers, shannah

What would be close would be Morning Star. From what I understand it's not the best for snorkeling except for a little section at the end but restaurants & cocktails are nearby.

You could also go to Magens Bay. The food concession is pretty good and the beach bartenders will bring you your drinks if you're sunbathing. Snorkelling is pretty minimal unless you either go WAY down to the far left of the beach and snorkel left or else swim out WAY beyond the swimming buoys to a neat reef.
But another suggestion. Captain Nautica (www.captainnautica.com) does two trips. One is a full day to the BVIs (including The Baths on Virgin Gorda) and the other is a half day trip to Honeymoon Bay. Both afford awesome snorkelling and all equipment, their staff is wonderful and the onboard munchies are great (open bar too!)
No, I don't work for them but they are good friends and run a top-notch operation which I've totally enjoyed on several occasions over the past few years when entertaining visiting friends and family. Cheers!
