Hello David,

St. Thomas and St. Croix have "malls" and shopping centers and St. John has shopping centers. The malls on St. Thomas and St. Croix are not comparable to the large strip malls found on the mainland... they are a much smaller scale. There is only one fully enclosed air-conditioned mall - its on St. Thomas. You can visit it at

Actually there is an enclosed, air conditioned mall on St. Croix. It's called the Sunshine Mall, and it is next to K-Mart West. Sadly it is the most vacant mall I have ever seen. It's only got about 6 shops in it (Three are shoe stores), and one McDonalds, although there is room for around 30 shops in the two story building.

It's like walking into the Twilight Zone when you go in there. It looks like any mall you might see in the states, except you might be the only person in it. It is a very modern, nice facility. Too bad nobody wants to put shops in there.
