Michael Straker was the best and only good thing about Caribbean Auto Mart when he was GM. I would definitiely buy a car from them, if I could.

I would advise everyone to KEEP AWAY FROM STRAKER MOTORS. Michael Straker is a SCAM ARTIST. In the beginning he will be very nice and act like he cares about you and your interest and family and have you thinking he is the best when he is not. The Vehicles he sells ARE ALL LEMONS because he sold one to me arounD JUNE 2011 last year. HE and HIS CONIVING ASSOCIATES THAT WORKS with him will call you and be nice in the beginning to convince you to by a car off their lot and tell you lies like a PROFESSOR,DOCTOR, or LAWYER even GOD himself use to drive the car that you have you eyes on aND SAY THAT the original OWNER took very good care of the vehicle and they didnt drive it that much. Michael STraker is going to tell that his vehicles on his lot has low MILEAGE its BECAUSE HIS SCAM ARTIST OF A MECHANIC,that is not to far from KINGSHILL POSTOFFICE right near MARCO WATER DELIVER tamper with the TIMER of the cars REVERSE BACK THE MILEAGE. The minute you hand over your money to MICHAEL STRAKER they all forget who you are. BECAUSE they did it to me. My car had a gas tank issue from the time I got it I went back to Micheal Straker Motors and told they and one of the sales guy told me that he will take my info and call me back as to when to carry the car to their mechanic and he never called me back. I keep complaning repeatedly about another issue my car had with the the rotors and when I received back my car from their mechanic a week later it still had the same issue and the mechanic had the nerve to tell me that ALL SUVs SLOWS DOWN WHEN THEY ARE ROLLING DOWN A HILL. I find that to be BULL CRAP. I tried to turn back my car back in before the warranty was up but he refuse it, dodge and didnt return my car and when I showed up at the car lot he was very unprofessional and begin threating me if I dont move my car he would CALL THE POLICE. I REPEAT DONT BUY, REFER, CONSIDER, THINK, AND MAYBE BUY A CAR FROM MICHEAL STRAKER BECAUSE HE SELLS LEMONS, LIES, AND TAKE YOUR MONEY AND TURN ON YOU LIKE A BEAST. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT LIARRRRRRRRRS AND THEIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many vehicles these days have brake assist. When descending a hill and you apply pressure to the brake the vehicle down shifts. Look at the owners manual or google your vehicle and search "brake assist".

Yes and many modern cars use engine braking as well when rolling down hill. One of cars will let me roll down hill behind a string of cars that are riding their brakes without me having to use my brakes much if any at all.

I bought a car from Straker Motors about a year ago, and the car has been wonderful...no trouble whatsoever. I took it to a reputable mechanic for annual servicing and he was impressed with the condition of the vehicle...even the undercarriage was clean.

HOWEVER.... I have to agree with this statement"

" In the beginning he will be very nice and act like he cares about you and your interest and family and have you thinking he is the best when he is not"

This was true in my case. Mr. Straker even had a Bible in his office. HOWEVER, once I had paid for the car he acted as if he had never seen me before in his life. I found that attitude to be very disheartening. I got a good car, but I would probably look elsewhere if I were looking for another one.
