storm watch
We'll get some rain. (tu)
I'm no Super Dave.....but that doesn't look like it's gonna hit us, does it? I mean, I WANT the rain, don't get me wrong! I just think it'll go North of us....
hey Marty
It's flaring up again, gonna hit us tomorrow. Hoping for rain, sure, but def NOT hoping that this thing intensifies beyond what they are predicting. It's possible for a storm to intensify from td to cat3 or 4 in 24 hrs if conditions are favorable! This one looks a bit sketchy to me!!!

For keeping tabs on hurricanes, there is no site better than this one: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ According to the NOAA, the area is NOT a hurricane, but has some potential. Let's just hope the damn thing doesn't become one.
It's not even a tropical depression yet. It's just a disturbance. Probably will be after it passes us or when it arrives here. There will be some ran and a few winds. Right now there is a probability of 50% chance of rain and winds up to 25 MPH predicted for Friday and Friday evening.
I'm still in the states and wondering if you guys are getting any weather from the tropical wave moving through.
Rain and thunder on STX right now. Just had to calm the dogs down (barking at thunder).
Thanks divinggirl, I couldn't get a hold of my daughter and wonder if my dogs are inside.
On www.stormcarib.com, Super Dave (used to be Ch2 weatherman) says:
Good afternoon!
At the 5 pm advisory and maybe before, a TD should be declared and TS Fay not too far behind. Preliminary indications are a closed center was found and they might jump it to TS status skipping TD. More wind and rain for the northern islands than previously allowed!
Where it goes down the road might not be more firmer until 4-6 more computer models are run. The northern islands will get a good lashing tonight and tomorrow with PR receiving copious amounts of rain and probable flooding. After that, if the DR mountains don't weaken or kill it, the makings of a strong, quickly intensifying hurricane are possible with tracks to include South Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. Due to it's close proximity to the mainland, the NHC is cutting it close on it's declarations!
A flash flood watch is in effect here in the USVI, eastern PR, Vieques and Culebra until Friday afternoon for the moment. Scattered showers and a TSTM or two have passed by so far with the worst/rest only a matter of time.
More later!
Dave
use www.weathercarib.com -- currently forecasting gusts to 40 mph in the higher terrains of the STT -PR and 3-5" of rain with possibly more after it passes through tonite and Friday.
This site has the most info in one place.
I'm due to land on St. Croix at 4 PM tomorrow afternoon. Should I cancel my trip because of the weather?
We're just having rain . . . it doesn't even have a name so I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure some people on this board who have been through many hurricane seasons can provide their feedback based on all of their experience but I would say still come down here!!!
St Croix especially being 40 mi. south of STT is likely to be clearing up by 4 pm tomorrow -- don't put off your trip!
Well, I'm going to visit my "fiance" for the weekend, but he just informed me that he is going to be going diving for four hours on one of the days that I am there, so I don't know if there is much point of going anyway. I'm going to have to sit by myself on the beach all afternoon.
Well the engagement as now ended, so I am not coming down. I discovered some pictures of him online grinding on some girl at Bongo's... after he had promised me to never step foot inside that establishment again. So, ladies of St. Croix, please enjoy, yet another temporary resident who is only out to have as much fun as he possibly can, despite any commitments that he might have made back at home.
Ouch! Sorry Magda. It's probably little consolation at this piont but it's better you found out now instead of after you married him.
