Still waiting for Stimulus Check?

I finally reached someone at the IRB, and mine should be here within 2 weeks.

Until then....add me to the waiting list.

all of the people who have not gotten their check yet, i was wondering why you have not gone to the irs site yet to find out who to contact??

I have not gotten my check and my husband has made multiple calls to the IRB and taken 2 trips down there. All to no avail. Still no check but at least after he went down there with our stamped tax returns they now admit that we exist (with our first phone call they told us that we "don't exist" in the Virgin Islands). So speee1dy, even after you contact the appropriate people you get no results! Life in paradise...

So I finally got my check a few weeks ago, but...they deducted almost all of it due to a mixup involving a previous tax liability (from 1997) of my ex-husband's! I finally got it cleared up and they are going to send me the balance, sometime before the end of the year.

Don't pay your taxes & they'll be sure you "exist." 😀

divinggirl. thanks i just wasnt sure if any one was calling the irs. a friend of mine a few years ago still had not gotten their regular refund check for months on end and finally called them and received it shortly after. so was just curious

Wowsers I got mine yesterday!!!!
Forgot I had a couple months of VI taxes under my 2007 belt...........so when I got the one stateside,figured that was it.......................Surprise!
It wasn't a big one, and they misspelled my former stateside address, but it somehow got forward back here!!! Yeah, it just paid to have my broad band installed...........damn the deposit went up a gadzillion percent!!!

Well hallelujah and glory be. I just got my stimulus check. Only six months past the supposed final disbursement date. Postmarked 12/24/08.

And I did file on time.

Another miracle...

We got ours just before Christmas, and we did not file on time. We did file an extension at the appropriate time, but actually filed in June. At the beginning of Dec., we got a letter from IRB saying we owed penalties because we didn't file. So, we took the stamped copy of our extension and the stamped copy of our return to the IRB office, where they said "never-mind". Then a week later, we got another letter from IRB, and of course we are thinking....here we go...., but it was notification of our stimulus refund and another week later, we got the check!
