That is good to know, but I'm asking about the other way around. Stateside to VI BMV system.

Everyone in the states has two driving records.

One Federal
One State
FYI: You can apply for an abstract for either or both.

I transferred my old stateside drivers license to USVI two weeks before the hurricanes hit. Had to return three times because the computers, in certain parts of the office, we're constantly down.
They did take my old license and said it would be mailed back to the state it was issued, so a refund could be paid back to me, up to the remaining effective date on it. I have received no refund and assume it never left here.
I heard those offices, on each island, sustained significant damage. I doubt theres very much checking of anything going on right now.

If you just pay the ticket, you won't have to worry about it, just saying.

But it depends from my understanding if the state has reciprocity with the other state, for example, I live in NY, if PA has an agreement with NY, then if I get a ticket in PA, PA will contact NY if I do not pay and NY will not renew my license. I know in the 70's when my father drove over the road this was uncommon and he usually didn't pay them, nowadays, I would imagine most states have an agreement. I doubt the USVI does though, but you would have to check.

Here in NY it's such a scam for tickets. Basically if you get a moving violation, there is a state surcharge and most of the money goes to the state. So the local towns reduce it to a parking ticket so that most of the money goes to them. The fines are still high but at least it's not a moving violation on your license.

So you if you get any moving violations ticket(s) in the states, stateside police agencies cannot go after VI resident's licenses for the ticket(s)/fine(s), suspend, or revoke your VI license.

Meaning the stateside police agencies computers are not hooked into our BMV computers to report VI residents tickets and VI licenses.

Am I correct? A yes or no answer will just fine. Thanks in advance.

You are correct, I wouldn't worry about it.
They are to lazy to enforce VI law, much less any others.

But if you get job that requires a traffic report it may show up.

And, if you got the ticket while while driving a rental car and you didn't pay the fine, it will be assessed against the car rental company who, in turn, will charge it to the credit card you used to pay for the rental along with any "processing& handling fees" the Car Rental Contact allows. It really comes down to you can pay the fine or pay it (and perhaps a bit more) later.

In my years of experience, traffic tickets and parking tickets in the VI will never be an issue if left unpaid until you sell the vehicle or renew your drivers license, if even then.

Most of them are never turned in by the officer who wrote them.
