MY HUSBAND AND I ARE THINKING ABOUT MOVING TO ST. THOMAS IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. WE WANT TO BUY A BOAT AND POSSIBLY FERRY PEOPLE FROM THE SHIPS TO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS OR USE IT FOR SNORKELERS. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MANY DIVE BOATS OR SNORKEL BOATS THERE ARE? DO ANY OF THEM STAND OUT. HOW DO YOU FEEL OUR CHANCES ARE MAKING A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS FROM THIS?

Hello Debbie,

You might visit the following web site to get an idea of the snorkeling/charter day sails that are here already. You can visit their web sites and see what they offer.

Dear Debbie,
The website that Islander sent you to (and thank you, by the way) gives you a small glimpse of the number of snorkel trips there are around. In additon to snorkel, there are dive trips, underwater motorcycles with breathing bubbles, parassiling trips, etc. Not to say there is not room for one more but you must be able to market it to a niche market ..... maybe snorkel for seniors or snorkel with babysitters available ,,,, and successfully market to the cruise ship industry if you are going to do this in St. Thomas. Let me know if I can help in any way.
