stabbing at the old mikes electronics
Thank nohstx for bringing to whole sad truth to light. I hope for a prompt recovery, specially the likely psychological scar from this experience.
It is also sad to read some of the responses on this thread.
Wow again...and not a word of it mentioned in The Avis that I have seen. And people wonder why I'm in favor of Open Carry.

How about you nohstx? Do you have anything to say, please?
I try really hard not to pass judgment on anybody. Again, the lack of regard/concern is simply appalling even when facts are not known. How many times here in STX I have known of an incident and absolutely nothing was in the news.
Oh well...
I told the story as it was told to me by the victim. You can blame my writing style on my 10th grade english teacher if you want, but basically I listened closely then reported the play by play exactly as I understood it. The victim told me that the incident did appear in both the Avis and the Daily News, but I think that it was just a little blurb on the event.
Thank you for the posting and the clarification, nohstx.

The picture of the hatchet man in a bloody t-shirt. He looks Hispanic to me, not black as originally reported. Judging by his grin, he should plead "not guilty by reason of insanity":

Curiously enough, on the same day when the hatchet attack happened, there was another incident involving a similar weapon:
Saturday, February 28, 2015 – Burton Massiah of #100 Humbug was arrested at 6:12 p.m. and charged with third-degree assault after he drew a machete on a police officer and attempted to strike the officer in the area of #1 & 2 Eastern Suburb Christiansted. Unable to post bail set at $25,000, he was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending an advise-of-rights hearing.
I think VIPD needs a better photographer.
Thanks for posting the link, wanderer.
Are you still vacationing in STJ?
Are you still vacationing in STJ?
No, I am back home, in North Carolina. But I keep up with the VI news. I think what I am trying to do is to maintain a "dual spiritual residency", one in the states, and the other one in the islands.
The moderator did a nice hatchet job with this thread. We all deserve it.
i appreciate the update wanderer even if you were one of the original instigators
Glad the matter has been cleared up and their is no longer any unseemly dispute by certain members of this forum regarding the veracity of the post.
Best wishes for the victim's recovery.
It's so sad about his dog.
