St Peters Great House
Does it cost money to walk around St Peters Great House? Been there a couple times and was never asked to pay. (honestly thought that it was kinda strange it was free to walk around) Went there about 2 weeks ago and while We were walking around the lady from the gift shop said we owe $5 each. Now I wouldn't have a problem paying them but why isn't there a ticket booth or someone to collect money at the entrance? I found this very odd and with that we walked out. It's was all too shady the way she was talking to us.
They do collect. Where exactly, I don't know. Thought there was a window or door as you enter. Maybe they were at lunch?
The Great House was free while Mountain Top was being rebuilt, but when Mountain Top reopened the fee was reinstated.
Wow! I've been there at least three or four times and have never paid. Nor have I seen any place that resembled a ticket booth or other such obvious place to even donate money. I have seen folks who were certainly employed and working there every time I've been. We have walked through the gift shop, as well, each time we were there. And this was certainly after Mountain Top reopened. Wonder what gives.
Could have something to do with the zip line since I was under the impression that the zip terminated there somehow. Maybe the people paying for the zip are subsidizing daytime visitors?
Before Mountain Top and the zip line there was a charge if you weren't on a tour.
