St Croix Notary At Registry-NO MORE

FYI, the days of having a notary in the parking lot at the registry on St Croix appear to be over.

Last week, went to registry a vehicle with owner, no notary in the parking lot. When he asked his friends who worked at the registry, the reply was NO NOTARY AUTHORIZED ON THE PREMISE.

However, we found out in the building in the front of the lot, we might find a notary, which we did and the normal charge of $5 was paid to have the title notarized.

Just for information purposes----for those who have relied on a notary in the parking lot when going to STX registry.

You're thinking of the girl that gives BJ's at the other end of the lot.

when I went just recently there was a lady working up at the PD building across the street (not across the lot, but beyond the old building)... it's the building on the right (no sign for her). She has another job there but is also a notary. Pull up on the right side to park and check that first door you come to... It's a short walk up the stairs from the BMV parking lot and across the yards, or you can drive back and forth.

To clarify, I have used the notary at the registry on STX several times at the registry and know where she was located.

When I went last week, around 1000AM, she was not there. When we asked around all advised ".....no notary not on location or allowed on premises.................."

The individual I was buying the vehicle is a local, and was told by his friend one of the inspectors "....no more..." However, across the lot the building where the pavilion are you might be able to find a notary(not on registry property or in sight). WE did find a notary in the office, which I think she worked for the police academy, who was kind enough to notarize the title and charge us $5.

I posted this information of NO NOTARY at registry as it is commonly known documents for registering a vehicle could be notarized at the registry by a woman who is a notary , and is in the parking lot.. Hoping to assist someone who buys and or sells a vehicle and in the past buyer and seller would meet at the registry and have the documents notarized.
