St. Croix inexpensive one week for one person
Hi All,
I am going to be in St. Croix by myself for one week in August. I don't need anything fancy with a lot of amenities, as this is a scouting trip. Does anyone have any recomendations for a one week rental? And on a side note, does anyone have a recomendation for a trustworthy real estate agent?
Thank you for your time,
Beth
Beth,
We are working with Chuck Ulrich - he is a Buyer Broker. So far so good.
I'll be able to tell you more after our 2nd PMV May 7-15 to look for housing. 🙂

Beth,
I am coming in June for a Pre-move visit and staying at Mt. Victory Camp. Check out their website. It might be an option for you. I am staying for an entire month and want the "resident" or "local" feel and figured staying away from the "touristy" type places was better for me.
Their website is:

Good luck with your search.

We stayed at the Cane Bay Reef Club, on the Northshore for our premove visit to St Croix. If you give them a call and explain your situation I'm sure they'll work out a good rate for you.

Thank you all for the responses. I've also looked into hotels. The cheapest one was the Kronegade by far. There was quite a price differential. Is there something wrong? I consider myself pretty self-sufficient and have travelled alone before, but I don't want to end up in a place where I have to sleep with a crowbar under my pillow. 🙂
I too have done business with Chuck Ulrich & he did an excellent job!

We use Joe and Julie SanMartin with ReMax. They have been great to work with and are very patient! You can find them online at www.tryavirgin.com. We have been down there several times looking and just recently bought a condo and last year bought some land. We did a long search before deciding where and what we wanted to buy and they didn't put any pressure on us. It was really a good experience. Good luck!
Beth,
The Kronegade was alittle far off the beaten path for my husband and myself---We stayed at the Pink Fancy for 2 nights and that was just out of the restaurant/shopping area and still an easy walk. We felt safe staying there, but wouldn't recommend walking alone back to the hotel late at night. And definately wouldn't recommend walking at night back to the Kronegade. Check out the Pink Fancy website-- good prices, too. Have you called the Holger Danske,Caravelle Hotel,or the King Christian? These are all right downtown Christiansted and a single woman would feel very safe with restaurants at hand.
Beth,
I stayed at the Kronegade when I went in Jan and I had no problems at all. I did have a rental car and did not wander about at night. I actually locked my keys in the car and there is a lawyer whose office is on the next corner, offered to take me to the airport to pick up a second set. Kronegade is very clean and you can cook, which is what I did to save money.
