St Croix Hospital U.S. Job Recruitment Fair 2016
Maybe they should post on this forum first?

Maybe they should be recruiting in countries like Haiti or the Philippines where healthcare workers are used to being paid poorly and treated worse. Its doubtful that they'll find many takers willing to move to the VI in the highly paid healthcare environment on the mainland.

We have many nurses here that were recruited from the Philippines. But when their contract is up, many head to better paying jobs on the mainland.
Is anyone aware of a registered nurses salary at the hospital?
taken: Have you attempted to speak to someone at JFL? http://jflusvi.org/about.aspx
Salaries are negotiated through the nurse's union and there was a big stink a while ago because they gave the nurses on St Croix more money than those on St Thomas. If you do get a government position (the hospitals are owned by the territorial government), the perks are a huge part of the job. Insurance, holidays, vacation...The pension plan has decreased because they were giving retirees full (or close to full) pay at 20 years, which is not sustainable. The government is slowly (well, more quickly now) going broke because of the many unfunded liabilities they have been trying to provide for a long while.
I hope you will read the online newspapers like The Source. The St Croix paper isn't on line, unfortunately.
The salaries of all the Govt Hospital employees are published each year in the VI Daily News . you might give them a call and find out how they recommend you proceed to access the appropriate issues.
