Sprint
Are any Sprint users in the VI having issues? I used to live on St. Thomas a couple of years ago and when I left I kept my VI cell number. It has worked fine up until recently and the Sprint people are telling me its most likely a problem in the VI b/c every call that I get and send out is automatically routed through the VI. Outgoing calls and texts are fine, but I am not receiving any incoming calls or texts. So other VI Sprint users, is everything working fine for you??
Cliff,
I am not on Island, but, I have an acquaintance and also a friend that has Sprint and they have had some line issues recently on St. Croix.
I'm on STT, I have Sprint, and for me all is as it has been for years.
We had a full day of absolutely no service whatsoever last week... another west end friend said he keeps getting calls that ring once, then stop. Another friend got a voicemail notification last week and when she checked her messages, had several from the last few days that all came at once, none with any notification of missed calls.
We are having major problems with them...We get text and hour or more later...dropped calls...we have to try and remind ourselves everyday why we are still with Sprint....
I just moved to the north side. My Sprint phone does not work and my Sprint wireless for the computer is extremely weak. Looks like I'm switching.
Turns out somebody was using my number to make international calls. I found out when I got my Sprint bill and its was $25, 000. That's not a typo, $25,000!!! Sprint had already realized it was fraudulent and stopped service to my number so the thief could not make anymore calls. Either way, my phone seems back to normal.
Has anyone experienced international roaming with Sprint out on the East End? My husband and I were at Point Udall the other day and his phone said it was on "International Roaming".
Just confirms my suspicion that east is really a foreign country and my next trip out there, I will carry my passport just in case :@)
Anyway, it was strange since my phone said nothing of the sort.
I have turned off roaming to avoid connecting through BVI towers.
We had a similar issue when visiting St. John over Easter. Got charged international roaming rates for calls because they bounced thru a BVI tower. Complained to Sprint and got credit for the mis-charges. No problems on STX thought. We probably would have gone with AT&T but we transferred existing service from up north and wanted to keep one mainland number. AT&T wouldn't allow us to transfer a Sprint number (last year).
