my boyfriend was injured in a car accident and broke his neck... he is paralyzed from the waste down. if he would need medical attention concerning his C-5 injury do you have qualified doctors to attend to his type of care? Also do you have physical therapists?

kayla: There are physiatrists and physical therapists on both St Thomas and St Croix. The Virgin Islands are not very handicapped accessible and would not be the top choice for services in general. You will also have to consider how you are going to get medical insurance here as there are only a few companies who write policies and I would think that an injury like your boyfriend's would be considered an non-covered pre-existing condition. The health care system here is not Medicaid friendly, as an aside.
