so many southerers and midwesterners
Anyone from New York Metro area like Long Island???? or anywhere else?
Vermont! 🙂
Seems most people I meet here are from the east coast, fla, or michigan.
I grew up in New England
I know someone who posts here who is from LI, but I did not learn that information through this forum, so I won't share the person's name. However, the person is a frequent poster and likely to see this thread, so if you have a question for someone from LI you may get it answered here.
Lol I am a Long Islander just looking for kindred souls form the east

I've never heard anyone say ''you'ns''--- (except maybe Tennesse Ernie Ford on I Love Lucy.) Where does that come from?
STX. My daughter has been there over 20 years.. We visit when we can
:). Presently I call Westbury home. I teach in the middle school here on Long Island
Paula,
I've had friends from Ohio say you'ns. I'm a y'all girl, myself.
Edited to change the spelling from ya'll to y'all. Not sure, have seen it both ways, but since it's a contraction of you all, I think it's right. Actually, I guess there really isn't a "proper" way to spell it! LOL
New Jersey, soon to be STX.
i am from ohio and i never heard ohioans say younguns? maybe there were misplaced. lol
Language Person says: "y'all". It is a contraction, so you put the ' where the missing letters are.
Every time I see the subject line "so many southerners", I want to say, "And your point is???" 😉 Not enough southerners, IMHO!(tu)
(tu)
We're a heck of a lot more southern than the South is. They're dam*ed yankees up there. 😀
I thought this thread was about a New Yorker looking for other New Yorkers, not a competition. Sauceress, we are out there, just listen closely and you will find us.... good night y'all
YEE-HAH!
Bless your heart...:-)
I am listening and I heard folks from Long Giland and NY metro . I don't feel so alone now 🙂
for all of us new yorkers and yankee fans everywhere #27 is in the bag! YANKEES WIN 7-3. take the series 4 -2, WAY TO GO YANKEES
YEA YANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just spell it "yawl" and you don't need to worry where the apostrophe goes.
(FYI: I did a spell check before posting this and yawl was not picked out as incorrect)
specialk: "I want to go sailing on y'all's yawl." 😉
