Snorkel tour recommendation STX?
Hey all,
We're visiting in April for a couple weeks, the 16th-26th (moving in July and accepted and returning to school at the university in stx to earn degree in early childhood edu. in Aug. woohoo!)
Anyway, we are bringing our parents on the vaca. and my father-in-law really wants to go snorkeling, but has one leg and this makes it hard for him getting in and out of things (he loves to swim). He's got a prosthetic but cant get it wet, so he pops it off to swim.
My husband says the pontoon sail boat (BigBeards?) we took to buck island on our visits will be too hard for him to get on and off because of it's height from the water. Does anyone know of or recommend a snorkel boat tour with smaller boats?
Thanks.
Rebecca
We've used Caribbean Sea Adventures (formerly known as Mile Mark) to go to Buck on their small cat. I've seen lots of mobility-challenged people (elderly and pretty large) get in and out of that boat pretty well, with assistance. Their boat is a lot smaller than Big Beard's and I think it could work for your father-in-law.
If you go with these guys, make sure you ask for JP as your captain. He's fantastic.
Bernie
Thanks! I will definitely check them out!
Better known as S.C.U.B.A. (St. Croix Ultimate Bluewater Adventures), but they also offer snorkel tours. Great people, and sure to make your father-in-law feel safe and comfortable.
