im moving down to STT in 5 weeks with my friend... still, we dont know where we're going to live, or a cheap place to stay for a week or 2 while we find something... we're are moving down there on limited funds and a couple of bags. we are just so ready to get down there but dont know where to go when we do...im just praying things will fall into place within the next couple of weeks and i can stop being so nervous about it. if anyone has any info on places to stay or if any, studio or 1 bedroom apartments near down town area, it would be greatly appreciated!

As I did, very successfully I might add, I stayed for a week at The Crystal Palace B&B with Ronnie who posts regularly on this message board.
It was an excellent place to be to get the lay of the land and to find an apt.
Therefore let me suggest that as something that you could secure, to secure yourself a little piece of mind.
Are you moving down to "try it" or to stay?
Have you ever been here?
I'm talking about St.Thomas - so if you're going to St.Croix, or St.John my advice won't help.

Great advice, IP. Ronnie's extensive knowledge and willingness to help has put a lot of people's minds more at ease with making this big move.

thanks IP... im looking to stay for 3 months, then come home for christmas...but i figure if i love it enough i will probably come back after christmas, so i guess its to try it. and... yes i went down once in april of last year when my aunt got married and i loved it.....(im finishing this 5 mintues later)... ok i cant seem to find a number for the crystal palace... does anyone have one, id just like to find rates and that sort of thing!

ok now... i read that the Crystal palace is a "sister" hotel of the Villa Fairview, i also found that you can rent a room for a month for about the same price you could stay at the CP for a week...is the villa run by the same people? some real estate lady i talked to said the villa was kind of shady ! but if its this same ron guy that everyone seems to speak so highly of, it couldnt be that bad... so i guess i just really wanna know if the villa is a ligit place stay for a bit until i find another place!

Me, my buddy, and my girlfriend are staying at the Villa Fairview right now. Its owned by Ronnie, same as Crystal Palace. Its not shady at all, parts of the neighborhood aren't the best but we've had almost exclusively good experiences, though I wouldn't suggest walking to town after dark, or by yourself.
