Anyone know of some good places to start looking for a 2 bedroom place in or around red hook? Me and my buddy are moving late june early july and need to find a place asap. We are both graduating college in may so we are pretty flexible on a lot of fronts. Need some help! thanks.

Plan on finding lodging for a weak or two (hotel/motel), and then hit the pavement hard when you come here. It will be extremely hard to find a rental if you are not here. Landlords do not want to rent to someone who might come. Plan on having first, last, and one months deposit when you come. Meanwhile research this board.

Tyler: Late June early July will probably not be a problem where rentals are concerned because that's the early beginning of slow season. Further to Betty's suggestion about intial relatively inexpensive accomodation (even though she didn't exactly phrase it that way!) you might want to contact Ronnie Lockhart who owns both Villa Fairview and Crystal Palace here on STT for temporary accomodation. Ronnie posts on this board from time to time and you can find him by going to the search engine on this site and entering his name.

He has been always incredibly helpful to newbies. Once you get here you can start looking for somewhere else to live by researching the Island Trader which is a free local advertising newspaper under the Virgin Islands Daily News. It's extremely hard to either find or secure a rental unless you're actually here and able to meet landlords face to face.

Cheers and good luck!

I know this was posted a while ago, but I was wondering if your rental is still available. I may be moving to STT and am coming down this weekend to check things out. I would love to see it if it is available. I am also interested in any other rentals that people may know about. I am looking for a 1 bedroom apt/ studio. I'll be working in downtown so something closer to there, but still in a good neighborhood would be great. Thanks.
