Looking forward to your call! Whenever someone here mentions something, I can usually tell them who has it and at what price. I shop for my friends all the time so I would just add you to the mix.

I love helping other people spend their money. 🙂

OKAY SO ANYWAY

Amazon isn't a done deal in a lot of cases. There are many vendors who SELL on Amazon but SHIP from their own location and in a lot of cases, shipping doesn't include the VIs. If the item is being sold directly through amazon, you're good. Other vendors are hit and miss. Macy's and JCP ship to the VIs but it's expensive.

😎

I personally find shopping on Amazon frustrating. Even when I check the box for my results to be narrowed down to "Ships to the US Virgin Islands" I end up with a lot of things that actually won't and don't know until I try to check out. I tend to stick to sites where I know they will ship everything they sell to me. For clothes/shoes, that would be for me, usually 6pm.com or Old Navy. I don't know about Prime... I don't order enough from Amazon to warrant it. But I do get nailed with high shipping costs when I do order without it!

When someone on Amazon won't ship here, you can usually find the same item on ebay for about the same price. If you have a physical address in addition to or in lieu of a post office box, you'll have more shipping flexibility. I just ordered something that wouldn't ship to P.O. Box so had it sent to my job.

You can have Amazon Prime here, but the 2 day shipping isn't free. Most people here have it for the streaming options.

I agree with Speedy on KMart clothes, but I haven't paid any attention to the men's.

Ahh..that's a great idea.
I would use that for sure.
I don't necessarily need the 2 shipping, as long as it ships.
Thanks!

OK everyone

Some of the best deals are on JCrew and JCrew Factory!!!

Shipping is usually a flat $8 and they ship via USPS Priority Mail so you usually get your package within a week.

Both sites always have a sale section and sometimes the sales have special discounts of 30 to 50% when you punch in the promo code.

The only issue I have is that JCrew Factory sometimes won't have what I want available to ship to the VI and I don't find this out until I go to check out. I emailed customer service about this once and they said it is because the store that those particular items would ship from, don't ship to the VI...which really didn't explain it. But I have never had that issue with the regular JCrew site.

What I especially like about both JCrew sites is that there are reviews of the items, and they rate whether they are true to size, or run big or small. In this day and age of most clothes being manufactured in China, it seems that erratic sizing is a problem for a lot of manufacturers.

Happy shopping!!!!!!!

I hear ya Don1923! I used to wear either a size 2 or 4, or small, depending on the brand, but those sizes got bigger and now with "new sizing" at JCrew, I am actually a 00 - double zero!!!! Or an XXS!!!!

They made all the sizes bigger so that large people could feel smaller by ordering a smaller size!

For example if you used to be size 10, now size 10 is really like a size 12, so people who are size 12 now can get a size 10 and the size 10 people get a size 8.

I think a lot of manufacturers are doing the same thing now.

I think it is a conspiracy headed by Weightwatchers and NutriSystems to make customers feel better

the whole sizing system needs to be uniform.

i loved j crew. their shorts especially. but now that i am a bigger size, not sure what size i would order from them and dont want to take the chance of ordering from them and not being able to return.

My friends are always sending things back because they don't fit. I sent one item back and postage was expensive.

You can get really nice polo shirts here for $20 in an array of colors at Asfour. They were more expensive everywhere we looked online.

FWIW - When you search on Amazon - theres a box on the left that says "international shipping" All of what search results pop up will ship to the VI. Not free but they do ship here. I start there. Ive bought everything from camera equipment to a entertainment center and never once had a problem with shipping - getting lost or late etc.

I recently ordered from the first time from Zappos. Was pretty awesome. Shoes (high quality sandals) got here in 3 days - free shipping AND free returns! I ordered two more pairs today and will pick which I like best and keep that one. They do charge you when they ship and you do have to wait for the returns back and 3-4 days for a refund but IMO thats not a biggie to be able to get GOOD sandals here.

This has not been my experience. I have spend so much time di¢king around on Amazon trying to get something I wanted and that little box didn't help me much at all. I always check that box before I do anything on the site and often times give up because none of the 'ships to the VI' options really ship to the VI.

Yes great and EXPENSIVE lol. That's exactly the style I need for this trip but I've just decided to pack light and get clothes when I arrive. 100 dirhams sounds a LOT better than $80!

Those beaded belts they have are amazing. Maybe they're necklaces?

Please define expensive. I do an online search almost everytime I enter a local store and I often find prices same or lower for items I'm looking at at the local stores.

I have used local artists to save dresses I stained by having them paint a design over the stain. My blue sandals have faded so I will have local leathersmith re dye instead of buying new.

Not everything in VI is more expensive than online.
