We are considering a unfurnished apt on STX. and wondering what kind of options and prices are out there for furniture. New or used?

OK, now I'm confused...aren't YOU opening a used furniture store?*-)

I assume you could put some furniture for yoursef on the first shipment, right? Until then, there is a furniture rental store on STX. I have absolutely no idea about their stuff, prices, contracts, etc., but it's DIAL, in the Sunny Isle area.

Animal Shelter Flea Market has some stuff, but not usually any quality, same with Womens' Coaition. The good stuff gets snapped up as soon as it comes in the door, I think.

Uniquities in Peter's Rest is a more upscale consignment store. Usually reasonable prices on quality items.

Yard sales are good too.

I heard on the radio this afternoon that Best Furniture in Sion Farm is having a big Black Friday sale. Very nice people and good stuff.

Ha Ha Jaunita
Yes it is a thrift store and we do plan to have used furniture. But our container is already full and we have already culled some things off of it. So it was just an idea we were looking at, but after research it seems to be futile to do that.
We are taking the furnished apt and will bring our stuff on the next trip. also our stuff is leather and heavy fabrics and you cant really find much wicker and rattan this time of the year. So we are back on track and looking good. Bought another 500 lbs of clothes this week and working on a half pallet of flip flops as we speak.
Still taking suggestions too.
BTW did you want floor model tv stands or the wall mount?

Hey!

Floor model TV stands. I would love to have a few of those kinda retro rolling cart kind, like the "original" tv stands. Although, now that I think about it, I'm not sure they had a shelf for the extras, like satellite receiver, dvd, etc., but that's the concept.

Glad you finally settled on a place. That has to take a big burden off, just knowing where you are going when the plane lands... Were you able to work out short term?

Juanita, I have a stand like that with the shelves below but it's in wood. Really sturdy but I've got one of those deep Sony TV's & need something sturdy. I can't even remember where or when I got it.
