Shipping new never been used 120 gallon propane tanks from mainland US
I have searched a bit and did not see an exact answer. does anyone know if there are any restrictions on sending 3 120 gallon propane tanks via ocean freight to St Thomas and onto St John? They would be brand new never filled or used and empty. I have trying to find a supplier in ST Thomas or St John with no luck. Moving down and renovating the house we are buying and want to install new gas appliances and hot water heater, as well as generator. Thank you in advance for any help.
They can be shipped. I have done it before.
Contact St. Thomas Cargo. They can easily handle these.
I am glad you brought them up. I received a proposal to ship a 40’ container and a vehicle down from them almost 3 weeks ago, and ever since then they have not been returning my emails and phone calls. Does anyone have a direct line to someone there by any chance. It is very strange. Very helpful at first then absolutely nothing. Emails, texts and phone calls and nothing.

I know that Paradise Freight, their sister company on STX, recently suffered a major email and phone system hack that caused major communication issues a few weeks ago. Since everything is likely related from a systems perspective, that may be the cause.
@vicanuck thank you for the info. Understandable if that is it. I recently spoke with 2 different representatives from them and still nothing. Recently being Thursday of last week and again today. Still no contact back. I understand “island time” and things may take a while but our house closing is approaching quickly and we want to secure the arrangements and to move down to start the renovations as soon as possible after. We are aiming for an early September move and shipping of vehicle and container. Thanks again.
