Hey there everyone!

First, thanks to all the locals down there with the info you post on this board, it has definitely helped me out, even though this is my first post here.

I am planning on moving down to STT then hopefully St. John by the end of August. My biggest question is shipping a motorcycle there. I've located several companies that will do a car, but nobody will ship a motorcycle. Any suggestions?

Also, are there any funky laws about motorcycles/registration/insurance I should know about ahead of time? I've already eperienced driving on the "wrong" side of the road, so that's not an issue....

Thanks in advance!

Am not sure but you might want to crate the bike and tell the shipping company that you want to ship a crated motorcycle and see what happens. They might then reconsider. Just a thought though. Let us know if it works. Good luck!

Yeah, I was kinda hoping to avoid that.....

Oh well, might be worthwhile do that. Either that or I'll just ride it from Denver to Miami and see if I can find someone there to do it. Might be cheaper overall considering airfare and all.

We'll see though.

Thanks!!

But as you ride it from Denver to Miami you will have limited cargo space and incur costs for food and lodging along the way. So overall cost could be about even. But it will definitely be a fun trip.

Let us know how you make out. It would be an interesting story.

You may want to contact Tropical Shipping. They specialize in freight to the Caribbean and have a terminal in St Thomas.

Thanks for the input everyone!

I've decided to hit the road to Florida, then ship it with Tropical Shipping. Not too expensive, and it will make a fun trip!

Thanks Islander!

I'm looking forward to it! I'm sure I'll learn lots along the way and be more than happy to share those lessons.
