shipper of electronic stuff to vi
I know there is always discussion about where to go on line to get electronics stuff shipped to the VI. Amazon doesn't do it ...in fact most don't because they don't use USPS, I believe. I just ordered and received a line conditioner from the following web site. Took me a while to find it, but they ship here via USPS at reasonable cost. I think it was $15 for the line conditioner.....www.audio-discounters.com.
I've used Abes of Maine for some items (e.g., Garmin Nuvi navigator) and a friend has used Crutchfield and uses Buy.com but usually they end up canceling his order due to his V.I. address and he has to straighten them out before they get things right and ship the goods here.
Someone had a Florida address here via a forwarding company agent for or what ever.
I used to use this service years ago & it works well.
There is a added cost in shipping to a US address, & then to a USVI address(plus the company's fees).
Were all looking to save time/money, it really is better to send it here direct.
I have herd UPS was to compete with USPS Priority, this would have fixed everything, UPS rocks in the states!
Shipping UPS here though,as it is, it`s probably cheaper to fly there yourself & bring it here, ridiculous!
Lets hope this happens in the future.
If not, it`s slowly getting better here, or you can find a place that will send via USPS instead.

we have used etronics, i think we did have to call them and it did have to ship vi cago. i think they had a probelm with the address for vi cargo not matching the address on the card we used to purchase the tv. could have been the card issuer who had the problem??

While Amazon doesn't ship here, Amazon Marketplace sellers can choose to ship interationally. The best I found for a LCD TV, he was offering shipping at $9 per shipment plus $1 per pound, came out to be like $60 shipping for the TV, not bad for how huge it was.
