Selling Used DISH 722 DVR

I just bought a new DISH Network 722 DVR to replace one that WAPA has deteriorated. It still works but is there a market for these like there is for used cell phones? It still works somewhat and it seems like a waste to just throw it out. Any ideas or web links?

When I switched from Dish to Innovative I had to return my DVR to Dish - but they didn't want the actual dish back so I threw it on craigslist for a cheap price and it was snatched up in a couple of days. Could always give that a try!

If it's leased Dish wants it back. If not, do what you like with it. No value to us.

I couldn't find anyone on the net who buys used Dish DVR's to refurbish so I guess I'll just pitch it in the bin. It doesn't work very well anymore after getting zapped by WAPA anyway.

Thanks for all your replies!

I had one die completely last week. New one came a few days later.
It lasted almost 2 years, and it's on a power supply.

I may send electronics here even if I have to pay postage.

ms411, we have an electronics disposal area at the Peters Rest bin site.

WMA ships them for recycling as I understand. There is an electronics recycle in Puerto Rico that pays for some things. Otherwise you pay them for them to properly recycle/dispose of them.

If you have DirecTV - the thread is about DISH.

from the website:

Yes! We’ve created a site especially for that purpose. It's easy to use. It's FREE. And it's not just for your DIRECTV equipment. We'll take just about any unused electronic devices, up to four pieces. You send them to us and we’ll responsibly recycle them.

I'm not sure what we have on STT since shipping stuff off island is more convenient for me than going to drop off points if they're available.

I've sent a few things back to the States for recycling.

You could always send it to Dish for proper re-furb. or disposal. Or the Peters Rest location.

As an Authorized Dish Retailer we cannot re-deploy a DVR because of the possibility of "inappropriate content" that could possibly be on the DVR.

Sky, what about the old 311 receivers? I have a new one that has never been used. I know it is not a DVR type, but will they still work?

311 is still OK to use. 301 has been phased out.
If you have an older receiver check with Dish to see if it requires a new Smart Card.
