Good morning all
I am getting ready to sell a car for a friend who is off island. I have his title but no signature on it.
The big question is can I sell it for him or do I need to get the title to him to fill out the back? gonna be tough since he is not on the mainland her is overseas.......Thanks

Think you may have a hard time without a power of attorney to sell truck. His signature and copy of his ID necessary as one must have bill of sale notorized when it changes hands and before it can be registered to new owner. Good luck.
Maybe call MVB to get all steps needed to sell/transfer.

The title will need to be signed by the owner and notorized. I believe there might be another document that requires his signature. Call DMV or check with a local notary on what is required to sell a vehicle for an off-island person.

Here was my experience as a semi-absent seller in 2013. Your mileage may vary, since your seller is fully absent, and BMV policy changes over time.

I used Tire Express in Princess to sell my car while off-island and they were able to do it as a broker or something. Wasn't expensive.
