You'll not find much in that price range. Rental stock is very limited and very expensive. There are several local Facebook pages where apartments are sometimes listed. Good luck!

Good luck, my daughter found a 2 bedroom for 1300 (somewhat furnished) in Christiansted and I would have never lived there.  She has another one now and it's 1800 for a 3 bedroom unfurnished. You can find them cheaper, but depends on the neighborhood or condition, at that price, it's gonna not what your will be used to stateside.  Plus you need to consider electric - if you conserve and not use ac figure on 150-200, but if there is no breeze it'll be hot.  Just want you to know what your getting into.

A little more info might get you better/closer/detailed answers

Which Island  --- Furnished /unfurnished  --- where you might be working for transport -- bringing a car -- school age preference  -- pets? ---

****** initial budget

Most rentals will require 1st and security and often last months rent as well [3X rent] -- utilities electric, cell phone, internet, cable or satellite, PO box -possibly water can easily run $300-500 month combined  -- all will require deposit =initial budget.

@scoy2005    Best of luck in decision making - if you have not been here before it will not be an easy transition or inexpensive.

scoy2005: As zero says: which island are you moving to? If you have a job lined up, you might ask for help from your future co-workers. If you don't have a job lined up and you haven't been before, you definitely need a long visit to see if the VI is for you. $900 would possibly get you a studio on St Thomas, but 2 beds go for more. The VI is expensive in general.

On St John you will not find anything for $900 a month except maybe a roommate situation.  Utilities would be extra.

do you have a job lined up? have you checked on the schools to see which one is to your liking. are you aware of the cost of living?

rentals are very high here , ive seen some really tiny places for about that. maybe not the best neighborhoods.

just curious where you are from and the age of your child.

Our food bill for 2 is pretty high, maybe 200 a week.

our electric with no air, no dishwasher and no cloths dryer is about 200.

our internet is less than 60

our dish?? more than 100-i dont pay that bill. i pay the streaming services.

our car insurance is about 1 k a year for two vehicles.

most clothing i buy on line due to what kmart is going through right now, there is a mariannes and a rainbow and some higher end boutiques downtown.

if you do come, bring your car-cheaper to ship your paid off car then to buy a used one on island

LOL. On "What's Going on St Thomas" someone just posted a "cottage"/ tiny house (maybe 10 x 20) for $900/month. It had a murphy bed and an outdoor shower. I'll bet it is already rented...
