i'm interested in moving down and finding a bar to work my talents in. i've been doing seasonal bar work for 5 years now, so not worried about needing the experience. my question is... what are some good places to check out for work seasonal at first, but have got no problems making the full time move. general ideas of which island is better stx, stt, or stj.... names of resturants/bars that i should check out, ect??

thanks for any help i can get. i've been pouring over the boards and you guys offer nothing but good advice, so i'm gratefull for all i can get. and if all goes well look me up and i'll make sure the first round's on me.

Hello Chris,

There are lots of bars/restaurants and bars at hotels, so if you come down at the start of season and have the experience you shouldn't have a problem finding work. St. Thomas will have the most openings but you can find bartending work on all three islands, so how about narrowing it down to which island you like the best first.

understood. i'll be down for like a week in march checking things out what not. plan on visiting all 3 islands to get a better feel for things. it's one thing to read the info off of the web, and another to see it all first hand. so after i get back i'll have a better idea. any ideas on some places i should hit up while i'm down?? thanks again

Hello Chris,

Definately a good plan to check out the islands for yourself and see which you like best. While on island visit some of the places you would if you were living here; ie. grocery store, look at a couple apartments one day just to see what they are like, you might rent a car and check out the entire island and see which areas you like... stuff like that. Definately also check out some of the bars/restaurants, for example on St. Thomas - Greenhouse is pretty popular, Epernay, Duffys... also some of the restaurants like Banana Tree Grill, Craig & Sallys, Blue Moon Cafe. On St. Croix check out the restaurants/bars in Christiansted like Rumrunners, Brew Pub etc. you can walk the various roads/alleys downtown and check the restaurants out... same for Cruz Bay St. John you can walk around downtown and check out different restaurants/bars as they are in close proximity.
