Scuba Instr. Occupational Therapist Relocating to STT
Hi I'm Mac and my fiance Karen are thinking of relocating to St. Thomas if the conditions are right, and would like some advise.
Karen has her Masters from NYU in Occupational Therapy and is a Hand Therapist and an Aquatic therapist. She is looking for a position in a hospital or Clenic as a Hand Therapist or Director of Therapy. She wants a modern enviroment not a 3rd world assignment.
I am a PADI Scuba instructor with 10 years experience in instructing, Managing and owning a Dive center in Barbados, Dominican Republic, Pennsylvania and California.
I am looking for a good dive center which takes care of its customers as well as their employees.
Can you give us any advice

Mac: I would advise you all to come for a visit. If Karen wants a "modern environment", what does that mean to her? There are, right now, several OTs on island, all are generalists. With a population of 50,000 you have to do a little of this and a little of that. Being a full-time hand therapist would not be possible, I don't believe. The best dive operation is, without a doubt, Chris Sawyer. I suspect your expectations may need some testing before you jump into this idea. Good luck!
